Starting Out in German is a beginner-level program that includes short and simple lessons and dialogues. It covers all the basics, with plenty of repetition and practice, making it ideal for audio-only learning.

Starting Out in German is perfect if you want to learn while commuting, running errands, or at the gym - or if you want to learn at home and simply prefer an all-audio course.

Any additional comments?

I am an intermediate German student so far, I purchased this audiobook in order to listen on my way to work. Although it has some nice grammar explanations, I am not sure if it would be sufficient without prior knowledge of the language or a printed material for a total beginner. Nevertheless, the audio is great and there are some nice samples of dialogues that are useful to fix vocabulary and pronunciation.

The book is not going to be helpful for beginners. I had already studied Czech some years ago and intended to refresh my memory, remember some words and pronunciation, so it was useful. But if you have no knowledge of Czech grammar and pronunciation rules, it's going to be very confusing and hard to follow. The speaker is a little fast also.
