If your already a fan of the series you will get to see a lot of the favorite characters involved in this latest installment of the beloved saga. Although there are some new folks that we meet, that I think will keep us guessing until the next book reveals their true colors...I can't wait for the adventureto continue...

Katherine Lowry Logan, weaves a story that involves a wonderful tale of baseball, redemption, time travel and love that overcomes all obstacles. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, laughing and becoming sentimental with both familiar and new characters in this latest in the series of an evolving extended family clan. I read the book, loved the story and then listened to Teri Schnaubelt's talented voice of many varied ages, dialects, genders bring this story to another dimension of life. If you like great character development, complex plots you will love this story and all in the Celtic Brooch series!

Once again, Sarah Woodbury, has brought us through time to and from the alternate universe middle ages to 2022. We are reintroduced to familiar and new characters that help Anna and Kind David navigate turning the situations of both worlds around to a better way of co-existing... maybe. I think Sarah's ability to fully develop her stories so well that it is very much like visiting old friends and making new ones. Weaving actual Earth history with alternate middle age history that hopefully will be a better outcome.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Sapphire Brooch to be better than the print version?

I LOVE narrations by Teri Schnaubelt, if I have read and enjoyed the book I will let Teri bring it to life for me with her narrations. The audio enhances the written word for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sapphire Brooch?

So many and slight spoiler... but I will always remember when Braham meets Master Lincoln for the first time...

Which character – as performed by Teri Schnaubelt – was your favorite?

The magic of Teri is that she did them all well, each had their own voice and reasonance. IF have to narrow it down it is a tie between Charlotte, Braham and Jack.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, The civil war and the juxtaposition of life today made me often laugh and cry sometimes simultaneously.

Any additional comments?

I often re-read and listen to books I enjoy.... this one I have read and listened to about three times already!

I liked the first installment of this series. Although it had a few snags for me. However I love Teri Schnaubelt as a narrator and the overall first story was enjoyable enough to take the " next ride" through book two. let me just say "Loved it!"...Satisfying and kept me listening to the whole book in one day! The story is connected loosely to the first and is better appreciated if one reads the first book in series before. Although it could be a stand alone story. So get a cup of tea and settle in for a marvelous visit to the turn of the century adventure and back again... As for me..I just got my "ticket" for the next train series "A Smile In Time...hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did!

College teacher Ellie Standish awakens from a night's doze to find herself on a bizarre historical train full of late Victorian era re-enactors who refuse to come out of character. When the leader of the group-handsome, green-eyed Robert Chamberlain-finally convinces her the date is indeed 1901, a skeptical Ellie rejects any eccentric theories of time travel and presumes she is smack dab in the middle of a very interesting historical dream. She turns the directorial reins of her dream over to smitten and willing Robert, only to realize that dreams cannot last forever.

I really enjoyed the story overall. The good stuff first intriquing concept traini as the literal time travel vehicle was brilliant. I felt through the descriptions I could really see it through Ellie's point of view. It was great to step back through the veils of time. However, the back & forth from past to present times with her fiance didn't flow as seamlessly for me and as such there were a few disconnects with story. They didn't spoil the story for me...but that and at times the narrator voice/ delivery was distracting. I can certainly recommend this as a very enjoyable book and will most likely continue reading the series.

I couldn't put it down! It is a rich story that could have been torn from the headlines and thrust into the lives of any community. It is inntense and graphic in parts, but not gratuitously so that it doesn't make sense with the story. (i.e. written with care and strong but not just for shock value).
