The story is a bit droll and insipid. It has some ok world building, but often times it feels the knowledge of that world is only learned before the author wants to introduce another aspect of the story, instead something the character experience and then tries to figure out. Often times this story has plots introduce matter of factly and there is little passion in the story. I did not feel as if I was falling in love as the characters were or the feel the need that pulled these two love interests together. Even the love making is written as if by a person who has no experience with sex and just a basic knowledge of what is suppose to happen. I do not believe that a book needs to have smut to feel passion, but this left the reader wanting. Even the fight scenes had not passion. There was not enough emotion to them, and it really did not make sense why there was an open season to challenge if they were true mates. There also seemed to be some sexist antics at play with the rule that alpha females needed to be killed because they had so much power and that they were too emotional to control it. Not my favorite book at all. I will say I was able to read it to the end. It did have promise, but I feel the writer did not have anyone pushing them to dig deeper in order to write a story that catches a person's whole being.

Great book, but my heart broke when the love interest said what he did. I expected more out of him, and yet he showed himself to be worst than Tony, because at least Tony was honest about being how selfish he is. I mean I get what he did. I get why he did it. However, that does not mean I do not understand the type pain he caused Cassy. And what he did at the end was deplorable. I think she would have always went back and rescued his wife, because she loved him, and you do that for the people you love when you can. Now, I will always remember him in a negative light. I wonder how I will see him in the dory series now?

Dory is used to fighting hard and nasty. So when she wakes up in a strange scientific lab with a strange man standing over her, her first instinct is to take his head off. Luckily, the man is actually the master vampire Louis-Cesare, so he's not an easy kill. It turns out that Dory had been working with a Vampire Senate task force on the smuggling of magical items and weaponry out of Faerie when she was captured and brought to the lab.

I love this story even more than the one that started the whole world off, the Cassy books. We need book four to come out now.
