So much happens in this book and so much depth is added to regular characters that I think it is my favorite of the series!

Overly dramatic, unnecessarily complicated, unsustainable story. Lots of gay sex. I love Sir John, but he is funnier and more realistic in the Outlander books.

Love DG, but this seems hastily written and uninspired. Very corny. I enjoy John Grey in the Outlander series, where he seems more authentic.

Helicopter parenting (ouch), adult and child bullying, and domestic violence: a guide. Order several copies of the print version because you'll want to share it with your people.

Wonderful story, superb narration. Lady Eustace's first foxhunt is the funniest scene I've listened to on an audiobook. I laughed out loud (as I did every time West said "corsaire") and bookmarked it so I could play it many times. Truly entertaining!

So happy to have found both a new favorite author and narrator - Trollope and West are a dynamic team, and so looking forward to their remaining combinations.

Brilliant writing and narration, which were both unexpectedly hilarious at times, especially in Connie's section, Bill's student days, and a few of Jim's interactions with his students.
