Whose Boat Is This Boat? Comments That Don’t Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane is made entirely of quotations from President Donald Trump in the wake of Hurricane Florence. It is the first children's book that demonstrates what not to say after a natural disaster.  On September 19, 2018, Donald Trump paid a visit to New Bern, North Carolina, one of the towns ravaged by Hurricane Florence. It was there he showed deep concern for a boat that washed ashore. "At least you got a nice boat out of the deal," said President Trump to hurricane victims.

I bought this book as a donation to the survivors of hurricane Florence. It is typical DJT and I hope that he gets the opportunity to hear it. Hopefully it will show him just how stupid he sounds.

Helene Wecker's dazzling debut novel tells the story of two supernatural creatures who appear mysteriously in 1899 New York. Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a strange man who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York Harbor. Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian Desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop.

I liked the book until the last few chapters. I could relate to his experience and believed that his NDE was definitely authentic. I truly enjoyed hearing how his and his family's lives evolved because of this profound experience. Although he knew in his heart he needed to make some serious life changes and at times he felt hesitant, he pressed forward because he had faith. Toward the end of the book the experiences that he conveyed sounded a little pretentious. The ending seemed sensationalized , making it very difficult to believe.

An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

What would have made The Hunger Fix better?

At the beginning of the book we are told to also buy the actual book. I wish that I had been told that in the first place. The book is very redundant. She constantly refers to heroin addicts, crack addicts and alcoholics. I get the similarities, but it isn't necessary to repeat over and over again. I could click fast forward and not really miss any information. I should have read more of the reviews before purchasing the book.

What do you think your next listen will be?
