Very unhappy with Audible. This recoding must be abridged. Why do they not offer an unabridged copy. Don’t waste your credit or money. I’m going to return this title now.

I am the biggest fan of this franchise. But this one is horrible. I am so disappointed. It's slow. It's disheveled. It creeps along at a slow pace.

Sorry to say I had Audible refund me on this one.

McCullough's John Adams has the sweep and vitality of a great novel. This is history on a grand scale, an audiobook about politics, war, and social issues, but also about human nature, love, religious faith, virtue, ambition, friendship, and betrayal, and the far-reaching consequences of noble ideas. Above all, it is an enthralling, often surprising story of one of the most important and fascinating Americans who ever lived.

In this stirring audiobook, David McCullough tells the intensely human story of those who marched with General George Washington in the year of the Declaration of Independence, when the whole American cause was riding on their success, without which all hope for independence would have been dashed and the noble ideals of the Declaration would have amounted to little more than words on paper.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Don't buy it. Don't waste your money. And John Grisham is my favorite author. I have loved every thing he has written, I have ready everything he has written. I do not believe he wrote this book. In fact it is pretty clear that he did not write this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by John Grisham again?

Yes, yes.

What didn’t you like about Catherine Taber’s performance?

Very good.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No, I am going to now request a refund.

What made the experience of listening to Two for Texas the most enjoyable?

The historical aspect of this novel was wonderful. Meeting Houston and Bowie were so cool. As a kid I remember these 2 historical figures. Also the humor is off the chart. I kept laughing out loud many times.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hugh by far. One of the best and funniest characters Burke has produced. Old, salty, lippy, and one eyed. I fell in love with this character immediately.

Have you listened to any of Will Patton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Every one that is available on Audible. I loved this one. I put this performance near the top.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly visit Texas.

Any additional comments?

Burke is the best living American author.
