I was completely inspired by the wisdom, honesty and humbleness of Ray Dalio. Unlike other famous American business tycoons, he is not self-centered or arrogant. His words opened up a whole world of thought provoking lessons that I will always carry with me. A true legend.
The fact that he read it personally just made it even more real for me.

What did you like best about this story?

The stories that the individuals told about what the working place was like when women first entered the corporate workplace were really entertaining... although it did help me appreciate how much women have endured over the last 30 years so that I could be where I am now.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The first Plantagenet king inherited a blood-soaked kingdom from the Normans and transformed it into an empire that stretched at its peak from Scotland to Jerusalem. In this epic history, Dan Jones vividly resurrects this fierce and seductive royal dynasty and its mythic world. We meet the captivating Eleanor of Aquitaine, twice queen and the most famous woman in Christendom; her son, Richard the Lionheart, who fought Saladin in the Third Crusade; and King John, a tyrant who was forced to sign Magna Carta, which formed the basis of our own Bill of Rights.

Any additional comments?

I enjoy history, but I was expecting to be reasonably bored at around 8 hours. But I am now at 19 hours and I am really disappointed that it is going to end soon. The book is fascinating and I can't wait to carry on listening.A definite winner!

What was most disappointing about R. C. Sproul’s story?

I found the wording and phrasing of the lectures to be hurtful and offensive as a Roman Catholic. He makes the Church sound ugly, archaic and wrong. I expected a more factual, unbiased discussion of the differences between the Catholic and Protestant canons.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The recording was very bad and the volume changes throughout the lecture series.
