With the story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the Gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives - helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

When I started into it I wasn't at all sure I was going to like it; but as the book progressed and I got more and more of a picture of what she is advocating, I found myself saying, "This is really good! I need to get a paper copy of this book and pass it around!"

In the end, I would highly recommend this book to everyone!

For years, Christians have been asking, "If you died tonight, do you know where you would go?" It turns out that many believers have been giving the wrong answer. It is not heaven. Wright outlines the present confusion about a Christian's future hope and shows how it is deeply intertwined with how we live today. Wright asserts that Christianity's most distinctive idea is bodily resurrection, and provides a magisterial defense for a literal resurrection of Jesus. Wright then explores our expectation of "new heavens and a new earth".

I want to listen to it again to better wrap my mind around what he says. This concept of our destiny is not what I was taught, and I'd like to hear the scripture passages again and read through them to be sure the Bible really teaches this. If it is, it is truly surprisingly hopeful!

"True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are." Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives - experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

I think, though, that this might be a book that is better in print, so that I could print the lists, or at least look back at them easily (especially since I'm a visual learner.)

This was a book that I had to take in very small bites, and only while I was doing mindless, routine tasks. The author makes many very interesting points that were completely outside the realm of my previous thinking -- and I've been a Bible reader all my life. In many ways it has changed the way I view the world, myself, and the spiritual realm.

I would like to listen to it at least once more, maybe looking at the companion website, as well.

The narrator was excellent! He obviously has a gift for pronouncing foreign languages, as well as being able to read well and in an interesting way -- something difficult to do on such an academic work!

I have both read the book and watched the movie, but this was the best of all. To get to listen to the full story with all the richness of detail with which Jane Austen wrote it being read with a lovely British accent while still going about my work was a delightful experience.

The only thing about it that wasn't absolutely perfect was that occasionally I had trouble distinguishing who was speaking. But those occasions were few, so are hardly worth mentioning.

Although someone who has been exposed to a lot of Brian Tracy's material would likely find this repetitious, I had never heard of Brian Tracy before listening to this collection of audios, so for me all of this information was new, or was expressed in a fresh, new way. And as Mr. Tracy promises, I am getting much more done in much less time. My family is surprised and encouraged by the results.

My husband also, who has read a lot of John Maxwell and other leadership/time management material, found this audio book very helpful, and requested that I gift him his own copy so that he could listen to it repeatedly. He is an elementary school administrator, and it is already helping him to use his time more effectively than he already was.

Overall this is the best book I have ever listened to or read for motivating and enabling me to use my time effectively. It has literally revolutionized my life!
