This would have been much better to read than listen to. It’s not that the narrator is terrible, I’m sure she’s fine in her own accent, but the main characters are Australian and her attempt hurt my heart.

We are told God will punish the wicked; that sinful men will reap what they sow. We are told to scourge our souls with prayer and pain to become clean once again. Well, here I am. Wicked and sinful. Desperate to become clean - even though it feels so good to be dirty. But even I never expected what came next. Even I never expected my punishment to come so soon.

I had anxiety ordering this book because I loved the first so much. Based on the other reviews I was concerned it contained infidelity or something that would make me love these two characters less. Rest assured it does not. What it does do is present a coming of age story for a different point in life, something that in my opinion needs to happen more often. Coming to terms with new responsibilities, a different set of adult style joys and compromises. I truly enjoyed it.

Under the close watch of the men in her family, Quinn has found it nearly impossible to spread her wings - or even date - without them jumping in to hover. And when a family friend - several years older - from her childhood captures her heart, she knows they're going to be a problem. Lucas Morrow is a man - experienced, sophisticated, and important. And knowing her brothers, he may as well be forbidden.

I loved this series, but this last book was really presented incorrectly. Based on the summary, I expected this book to have SOMETHING to do with Lucas but other than two minutes in the epilogue where he’s not even on the same continent, he’s not a part of this story. This is entirely based on the relationship between Jared’s mom and Maddox’s Dad. It’s an interesting story but not really what I thought I signed up for and this just left a million loose ends.

I enjoyed this Heyer as I have all her stories I’ve listened too. The narrator was pretty exceptional at the variety of voices and accents. There was so little description of the plot though that I am not sure this book would have been my first choice had I known what to expect. This is a story of a woman who gets talked into marrying a dying man only to find herself in the middle of a murder mystery. There is very little interaction between her and the hero and therefore very little in the way of romance. Still a fun story and worth the credit.

Everybody knows Logan O'Toole, world famous porn star. Except then Devi Dare pops into my world, and pretty soon I'm doing things that aren't like me - like texting her with flirty banter and creating an entire web porn series just so I can get to star in her bed. Again. And again. With Devi, my entire universe shifts, and the more time I spend with her, the more I realize that Logan O'Toole isn't the guy I thought he was. So maybe I'm not the guy you thought I was either.

I really enjoy this writing duo, but I went into this expecting Priest and I think I was a little disappointed. There’s a common theme, man loves woman, man loves his “calling” which will he choose. I think it was easier for me to grasp when that calling was divine rather than having sex with lots of people. Entertaining and thought provoking, but not my favorite.

I love historical romance, but I didn’t realize when I selected this book that I was getting more Jane Austen than Eloisa James. The heat level of this is below zero. That being said, the dialog is witty and very reminiscent of Austen. If you are a fan of Pride and Prejudice, you will likely enjoy this book as much as I did. Nice surprise.

I love this book. I think it’s my favorite in the series because it’s unexpected. There were so many times the book looked to be resolved with problems sorted and then it would take a turn and I’d be like, wow I didn’t see that coming! That’s pretty rare in romance.

I am so conflicted about this series. I love the originality of these stories. Aside from the HEA I really have no idea where things are headed and I so enjoy that. But I’m REALLY having a tough time with the dialog. It seems so campy and unrealistic. Admittedly I am not a member of an MC, maybe they really do talk like that, but I am from Texas and the dialog is so unrealistic it makes me cringe. I so want to know what happens next but I’m not sure I can sit through more of it.

First, my applause to the narrators because this could not have been an easy book to perform.
As for the story itself, I bought this book because I was curious how a religious cult and an MC could be woven together into anything resembling a romance, but goodness somehow Tillie Cole pilled it off. It was a bit graphic at times describing the murdering and abuse flash backs, but not so much that I needed to turn it off for a break. I enjoyed it and will get the others in the series.
