In The Lightkeepers, we follow Miranda, a nature photographer who travels to the Farallon Islands, an exotic and dangerous archipelago off the coast of California, for a one-year residency capturing the landscape. Her only companions are the scientists studying there, odd and quirky refugees from the mainland living in rustic conditions; they document the fish populations around the island, the bold trio of sharks called the Sisters that hunt the surrounding waters, and the overwhelming bird population....

I loved every word of this book. It jumps right into the story and has an abundance of fantastic characters. There is no unnecessary wordy imagery, yet every scene was vividly portrayed. I'm so glad that I didn't read thus as soon as it came out. I'm jumping right into book 2 and look forward to the last book of the trilogy this winter.

I listened to this book on audibles. The narrator was excellent. He never made a mistake and performed a huge cast with perfection. There was a beautiful performance of a crucial song intertwined throughout the book. It was a perfect ending to a perfect book.

Miles Halter is fascinated by famous last words - and tired of his safe life at home. He leaves for boarding school to seek what the dying poet Francois Rabelais called the "Great Perhaps." Much awaits Miles at Culver Creek, including Alaska Young. Clever, funny, screwed-up, and dead sexy, Alaska will pull Miles into her labyrinth and catapult him into the Great Perhaps.

Looking for Alaska brilliantly chronicles the indelible impact one life can have on another.

This boom kept me riveted from start to finish. 650 Australian brides are to travel on an airline carrier to meet their husbands after the end if the war. The story is told from 7 different perspectives each as intriguing as the last. The whole concept unbelievable yet based on real events. Moyes is a brilliant author and I love everything of hers I have read to date.

If you like brooding, arrogant, pig headed heroes with a hidden broken core needing repair from a clever female who can disguise her interventions, you will like this story.

If you can recognize the brilliance of Kate Reading's flawless narration, you will like this story.
