Mickey Haller has fallen on tough times. He expands his business into foreclosure defense, only to see one of his clients accused of killing the banker she blames for trying to take away her home. Mickey puts his team into high gear to exonerate Lisa Trammel, even though the evidence and his own suspicions tell him his client is guilty. Soon after he learns that the victim had black market dealings of his own, Haller is assaulted, too - and he's certain he's on the right trail. I always enjoy a good Connelly book, of which I've read many. This is a great take on a story about a defendant and the trial. Just a warning, it has surprise ending.

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Catch a tiger by its toe. It's seared into Atlee Pine's memory: the kidnapper's chilling rhyme as he chose between six-year-old Atlee and her twin sister, Mercy. Mercy was taken. Atlee was spared. She never saw Mercy again. Three decades after that terrifying night, Atlee Pine works for the FBI. She's the lone agent assigned to the Shattered Rock, Arizona resident agency, which is responsible for protecting the Grand Canyon. So when one of the Grand Canyon's mules is found stabbed to death at the bottom of the canyon - and its rider missing - Pine is called in to investigate.

I've read all of David Baldacci's books and loved most of them. this is a unique story and well written. I only criticized the character of Cetler. He comes across as somewhat dull witted which doesn't seem like a usual Baldacci character. I looked this book but it isn't the best Baldacci novel.

I absolutely loved this book. JF Penn is a fantastic writer. Her books are always well written and easy to read. The mix of history and fiction take you to places you might have visited and adds to the enjoyment of the story. The adventure of Jake Timber and Morgan Sierra in their quest for the relic called “Hand of Ezekiel” will keep you enthralled so that you’ll find it hard to put down. I only wish I was given the chance to rate this higher than five. I was given a review copy from the author but it in no way affected my comments above.

Virgil knows the town of Trippton, Minnesota, a little too well. A few years back, he investigated the corrupt - and, as it turned out, homicidal - local school board, and now the town's back in view with more alarming news: A woman's been found dead, frozen in a block of ice. There's a possibility that it might be connected to a high school class of 20 years ago that has a midwinter reunion coming up, and so, wrapping his coat a little tighter, Virgil begins to dig into 20 years' worth of traumas, feuds, and bad blood.

As with the other Davenport and Flowers books Deep Freeze is a great read. It’s a shame it can only be awarded 5 stars, it deserves more. If you have never read a Sandford book you have missed a real treat. These books are well written, easy to read and next to impossible to put down. In addition to a good mystery there is a bit of humor thrown in which is awesome.
