I'm a lot of things - a screwup, a basket case, a flunky. But when I take a nanny job to be near my pregnant sister, I swear to myself I'll walk the straight and narrow, which means I cannot fall for my insanely hot boss. I don't want to be tempted by that rugged rancher. By his chiseled muscles or southern charm or the way he snuggles his kids at bedtime. Ethan Carter won't get the key to my heart, no matter how much I want him.

I loved the storyline, I just wish the narrators played each character instead of doing both characters. I wish there was more to this series!

She’s a martyr. A myth. A ghost. A legend. She’s my soulmate and my captive, my conscience and my wrath. I love her too much to let her die; I fear her too much to wake her from her slumber. She’s mine. And now she’s gone. He’s unnatural. Undying. Unethical. Unstoppable. He’s the keeper of lies and lost souls. Mine slipped through his clutches. I am his wife, his queen, the love of his very long life. And soon, I will be his executioner.

The story is great, it keeps you tied in and on your toes. I literally could not stop listening/reading (had to buy the physical book to read while at work). Laurel did a fantastic job with the series in general. The first book leaves you having questions that you must read the second and third book to find out. The romance in this book was not what I expected but hooked me in as I got further into the book. If you like romances that are not predictable, please read this book. Now I am not a fan of action and books that are about if the world practically ends but this is different because it's not about how the world ended& now people are just trying to survive. It's more on how to fix it!

Now the only thing I don't like is the narrator's poor attempt at faking a french accent. Annoying but bearable.

If you like Mortal Instruments, The Throne of Glass series, or the Red Queen, you will love this.

Some of the dialogue was a little corny but still good. I love the series though and it will stay a part of my billionaire collection.

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

I love the Book. The story immediately leaves me asking questions and I enjoy the story plot. But the narration just doesn't do the book any justice. Mae's interpretation of an English accent is just plain awful. I wish she had just skipped the accent and deepened her voice when needed but it was awful and I felt like it just ruined me wanting to listen to the book. I have to return the audio because I physically can not handle the terrible fake accents
