But the games ended the night Emma sleepily watched the others sneak out of the cabin into the darkness. The last she - or anyone - saw of them was Vivian closing the cabin door behind her, hushing Emma with a finger pressed to her lips. Now a rising star in the NYC art scene, Emma's paintings catch the attention of Francesca Harris-White, the socialite and wealthy owner of the very same Camp Nightingale.

Jane’s days at a Midwest insurance company are perfectly ordinary. She blends in well, unremarkably pretty and extra efficient. She’s just the kind of woman middle manager Steven Hepsworth likes - meek, insecure, and willing to defer to a man. No one has any idea who Jane really is. Least of all Steven. But plain Jane is hiding something. Nothing can distract Jane from going straight for his heart: allowing herself to be seduced into Steven’s bed, to insinuate herself into his career and his family, and to expose all his dirty secrets. So she can take it all away. Just as he did to her.

It starts with a simple favor - an ordinary kindness mothers do for one another. When her best friend, Emily, asks Stephanie to pick up her son, Nicky, after school, she happily says yes. Nicky and her son, Miles, are classmates and best friends, and the five-year-olds love being together - just like she and Emily. A widow and stay-at-home mommy blogger living in woodsy suburban Connecticut, Stephanie was lonely until she met Emily, a sophisticated PR executive whose job in Manhattan demands so much of her time. But Emily doesn't come back.

It was just a party. But it turned into a nightmare. When Rachel wakes up in a strange room the morning after a neighbour’s party, she has no memory of what happened the night before. Why did her husband leave her alone at the party? Did they row? Why are Rachel’s arms so bruised? And why are her neighbours and friends so vague about what really happened?

I really enjoyed this novel and the narration was performed very well. This is my first Lisa Hall book however I would definitely try her again. my largest thing about the story line was it was very very good it was the absolute ending that left you with the cliffhanger. I believe if that cliffhanger had just been established just a little bit more in the storyline it would have took her from this audiobook being s three star storyline to a 5star storyline... otherwise it was a perfectly enjoyable title.

I have to say... I enjoyed Caroline Kepnes first two novels : You & Hidden Boddies.
This was an utter complete let down after pre-ordering and waiting for a sample after the purchase. This story truly was way out in left field and made no utter sense at all....in any manner of speaking.
Normally if I don't have something positive to say as a writer & narrator myself I don't say much ... however this was a sheer disappointment to me. Definitely read her 1st two books they are outstanding.
Providence should have stayed in her notebook.

Opinions are like mouths we all have something to say....with that being said read it for yourselves as you may find this story to your liking.
