Patrick McManus, author of How I Got This Way and one of America's favorite humorists, is an impish commentator on the obvious and not so obvious absurdities of modern life. His national best seller, The Night the Bear Ate Goombaw, is a collection of hilarious short pieces about fishing, its exotic equipment, and activities like "gunkholing". You will learn, for example, that the best way to learn to fish is to build an addition to your house first.

My father was the one who first recommended Pat McManus to me. I wasn’t sure that I would like his work considering my father and I often like very different kinds of stories. I was very pleasantly supprised. I often listen to books I’m the morning on my way to work. I listened to this book every morning on the commute. I laughed so hard I often cried. People driving next to me probably thought I was crazy. I didn’t want to stop listening when I arrived at work, but I was comforted by the fact that there was more on the way home to listen to. I will be checking out his other books. For a light-hearted good laugh, check out this book!

My father suggested this book to me. I really started listening to it because he wanted me to do so. Boy am I glad I did. This is an amazing story of God's love and faithfulness. It is the story of one man, David Wilkerson, who had the courage to obey God when He told David to go love the unlovable. It is a must read for every Christian. You will be blessed by this story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Bride Collector?

As the story goes on The Bride Collector kidnapps many women. When one woman in particular is kidnapped, all I could think was I did not see that coming!

Any additional comments?
