Everything he learned to protect the president, he must use to take out theirs. With an American president distracted by growing tensions in North Korea and Iran, an ominous new threat is emerging in Moscow. A czar is rising in the Kremlin, a Russian president feverishly consolidating power, silencing his opposition, and plotting a brazen and lightning-fast military strike that could rupture the NATO alliance and bring Washington and Moscow to the brink of nuclear war. In this seminal work that has spent more than 30 years in print, Dennis Prager and Joseph Telushkin explain the reasons behind anti-Semitism, the world's preoccupation with the Jews and Israel, and why now more than ever the world needs to confront anti-Jewish sentiment. Prager and Telushkin examine in detail how anti-Semitism is a unique hatred - no other prejudice has been as universal, deep, or permanent - and how the concept of the "chosen people" spawned that hatred.

We traveled to Israel 3 weeks ago and were impressed with the safety, serenity, and joy of the Jewish people, in spite of being surrounded by hostile countries and having their enemies live among them also. We walked through all the quarters of the Old City: Armenian, Christian, Muslim, and Jewish. The differences between them is stark. Where were we welcomed? Where did we feel safe? Only in the Jewish quarter. We came home with the nagging question, "Why are they so hated?" Finally moved to find out, we listened to this book. The research that went into it is evident. Names, places, dates, circumstances, and outcomes are laid out and easily understood. The narration is dry but does the job. This isn't a novel, after all.

In 1962, Don and Carol Richardson risked their lives to share the gospel with the Sawi people of New Guinea. Peace Child tells their unforgettable story of living among these headhunters and cannibals who valued treachery through fattening victims with friendship before the slaughter. God gave Don and Carol the key to the Sawi hearts via a redemptive analogy from their own mythology.

An encouraging story for all of us who struggle with sharing the gospel due to fear or shame or lack of knowing how to even start. If God calls, He also equips. And He goes before us to prepare the way. We just have to be willing to go in faith. May He embolden us all for His glory.

Exciting stuff. It made me look at current events in a new light, i.e., it made sense of current events in the Middle East. You can have peace with your enemies. The choices are reconciliation or annihilation. Iran speaks peace and we Westerners think "reconciliation"; but they really mean "annihilation." I was especially intrigued with the fate of Damascus.

The dramatic autobiography of one of China's dedicated, courageous, and intensely persecuted house church leaders. This is the gripping story of how God took a young, half-starved boy from a poor village in Henan province and placed him on the front line for Jesus, in the face of impossible odds. Instead of focusing on the many miracles or experiences of suffering, however, Yun prefers to focus on the character and beauty of Jesus.
