This book is a great start to a new paranormal series. O am looking forward to the next book.
The character development leaves a lot to be desired but the world building is intriguing. The main character can't seem to find a personality. In one paragraph I like her but the next I'm asking WTF. I also think it would have been better having differing povs. With it all coming from her it feels like things are missing.

I enjoyed the narration.

I did not care for the female mc. She just rubbed me wrong. That's actually putting it mildly, I wanted to smack her constantly and tell her at times to grow up and others to use her brain. She is definitely a blond.

You have to read the novella before this one to truly feel the love story. I love the characters, though the storylines feel a tad predictable to me. I read and listen to books a lot. I mean at least 1 a day, so I do clarify that with 'a tad' and 'to me' because not everyone reads as much as I do and have read the same scenario before. Very enjoyable audiobook.

I love the BDB series. This book was a great addition. I love how the new books touch back on the couples from previous books as they go through everyday life. There are so many books where an author doesn't take the time to keep the previous books' main characters going. The way Ward writes immerses a reader within the world and keeps you coming back for more.

The concept, the characters, the storyline, they're all great. My problem is with the jumping around point of views. It gets annoying and confusing. I cannot enjoy a book that does this. I read the first book in Kindle a while ago but couldn't pick up this one due to the jumping. When I saw it on the romance package I decided to give it a try. I just can't do it. My mind doesn't show me what I am reading when it reads like this.
