Whether it's fast cars or fast women, Stefano Ferraro gets what he wants. When he's not fodder for the paparazzi, he commands Ferraro family businesses - both legitimate and illegitimate. While their criminal activity is simply a rumor yet to be proven, no one knows the real truth. If you could sum up Garden of Lies in three words, what would they be?

Loved the characters, the Narration almost ruind it. Once again a great story, awesome subcharacters but where they got this narrator is beyond me. It sounded as if she were reading a text book. and the worst 'American accent" EVER. the voiced main characters seem to be detached ...as if they were commenting on the weather. I bought and read the book after this. they story is great.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her voice is detached and cold. like she is reading a text book. and her 'american' accent was the worst i have ever heard....the WORST

Any additional comments?

I almost returned the book mid listen becuase her voice ruined it for me.

What would have made Otherwise Engaged better?

I have all of the Krentz, Quick, Castle audiable books. This was the worst. The story was so so. I just couldn't get interested in the main characters. BUT the narration was by far the worst I have ever heard. It sounded as if she was board with the story and was reading from a text book. I felt as if i was listening to an automated voice. I did go buy the hardcover book. I have them all in my library at home. I did read it after I listened to the audio version. it was OK. She has done so many interesting story lines but this was not one of them. Grab some of her other titles and skip this one.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I do plan to get her next book, be that Krentz-Quick or Castle

What didn’t you like about Louise Jane Underwood’s performance?

her performance was stiff,...sounded like the voice that you call for the correct time. maybe a male reader for the male roles might have been better.

This is my favortite Quick book. I grabbed it the day it became avaiable. love the story, the wit, the danger, and gotta love the In-Laws!! i have worn out several paperback versions and a hard back...now i listen in the car and on my MP3 palyer!!! Her older books are my favorite. I also like that she doesn't feel the need to give the reader(listener) a history lesson when telling her tale! Just plain FUN. I hope some of the older ones like Mistress, With this Ring, I Thee Wed and a few others will come out with unabridges versions. I have the tape versions......./sob...i would love a unabridged verson not the horriable abridged ones they have avaiable.
