At a 1931 barnstorming exhibition game in Tennessee, a 17-year-old pitcher for the Chattanooga Lookouts struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig back to back. Her name was Jackie Mitchell - "organized baseball's first girl pitcher." In July 1970, a stripper rushed onto the field at Riverfront Stadium to kiss Johnny Bench, temporarily disrupting a game attended by President Nixon and his family. These are just some of the great, quirky, and comic moments in the annals of baseball recorded in The Greatest Baseball Stories Ever Told.

The author a flaming liberal writes this story about a woman who shoots a man charged with her daughter multination and murder. He compares her justified homicide to the unjust war in Iraq and paints Saddam Hussein who murdered his own people with chemical weapons as an OK guy. No more Methos books for me.

On the surface, the court-appointed case that lands on young Dean Abernathy's desk is a biggie; he is slated to defend a homeless man accused of the felony murder of the popular black New York City Police commissioner during an early-morning mugging attempt. But at second look, the case promises to be a routine conviction. The evidence is overwhelming.

Theirs was the most captivating American political partnership since Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger: a bold and untested president and his seasoned, relentless vice president. Confronted by one crisis after another, they struggled to protect the country, remake the world, and define their own relationship along the way. In Days of Fire, Peter Baker chronicles the history of the most consequential presidency in modern times through the prism of its two most compelling characters, capturing the elusive and shifting alliance of George Walker Bush and Richard Bruce Cheney as no historian has done before.

From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The worst narration I ever listened to.The narrator when using dialogue used an urgent and loud tone no matter what the situation was. It was like telling someone to" CALL 911" loud and urgent, it was so annoying. When the narrator had to portray a woman the voice sounded like a whiny five-year-old.The story about people madden by a virus goes on hour after hour with seemingly no progress in the story. I finally stopped listening halfway through. I would strongly recommend looking for another book other than this one.

Would you ever listen to anything by Bobby Adair again?

Maybe but unlikely.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

As written about so bad could keep listening.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Slow Burn: Box Set 1-3?

About 3 hours of it.

Any additional comments?

Stay away from this book.

Where does Rebel-in-Chief rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Liberal will hate this book because it tells the truth about George W Bush ,what he accomplished and what his vision for America was. Finally somebody had the guts to write a book based on facts not name calling and untruths about a President that fought terrorism and protected America. Loved this book.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

How much President Bush did while in office unlike the current President.
