I'm a huge fan of Molly Harpers writing and stories. When I first heard about this story I was super excited because I loved her werewolf series.

The story is fantastic, I love the world building of Mystic Bayou, I wish it were a real place, because the characters and all the awesome shifters were so much fun. It follows Jillian Ramsay who works for the League of Interspecies Cooperation, she is to study the rift in this small town and understand how the humans and shifts have coexisted for so many years peacefully. But when Jillian gets there she is in for many shocking surprises, from the sudden realization the rift is changing people, the very friendly and in your face mayor, the arrogant but sexy sheriff, oh and people ending up dead...

I really enjoyed the who did it mystery, the fun loving towns people, the smoking hot chemistry between Jillian and the sexy Sheriff Bael. Harper creates these really exciting shifter species and give them a special twist too, it was a great start to a new series.

The narration was so much fun, Amanda Ronconi really brought to life Jillian, who is put through the ringer in this book. I love dual narration because its gives me a better idea of who is talking to who. Ronconi has a great and fun male tone for Bael and the Mayor. Davis is a new narrator for me and I love his deep husky tone for Bael, especially since he is a dragon and it just suited his character so well. I had a bit of a hard time with his female narration since he does have such a deep voice but it didnt deter me from the story. Overall this was an enjoyable narration between the two.

I'm fairly new to audio books, so I was excited to try one of may favorite authors. I really enjoyed the story, arrogant British bad boy Sterling and smart and a little bit of a mess PR guru Cam, have to work together to find Sterling a wife. Their chemistry is off the charts and I loved listening to Sterling grow up from his player ways to seeing how much he enjoy just being with Cam. Cam frustrated me at times, it was very clear that Sterling wanted her and just her, but she kept trying to put him in a box because of his history.

Overall I loved the narration. Ava Erickson was a favorite from a prior listen, so I knew how she was going to handle Cam and she was fabulous. John Lane was insanely great as Sterling, I love his rich voice and he really knew how to make me love and get irritated at time with the character. Both work well with the banter, humor and drama that went on in the story.

After reading and loving Bethany-Kris' past mafia romances, I was excited to give one of her stories a try in audio. I love the world she has created, it's dark in the criminal world side, but it also it about family, love and being comfortable with the life of a family in the mob.

Captivated follows Liliana Marcello, she is the Marcello principessa, she is cherish and loved, and mostly kept out of the family business. But she isn't blind to the fact of what her family does, her father, her brothers and the people she's surrounded by and lives the life of Cosa Nostra family. She meets Joe Rossi a member of the Chicago Cosa Nostra, she is captivated by him and they have this connection. But Joe is closed up about why he's there, even though its obvious he's working on something with her family. But soon Joe realizes as he too figures out why his job of taking down two powerful people is more than what meets the eye and is also connected to Liliana.

Bethany-Kris is a master at writing mafia stories, each couple I have adored. They live a dangerous life and each have flaws but people who love them. Also each story, like this one show couple or characters from the past books so it always feels like your reading a continuous book. The romance as always is sexy and Joe is all alpha and knows how to make Liliana feel like a queen. Joe is complex, he is a made man, also known as The Shadow, like a hitman, he can slip in and out of the shadows and get the job down without notice. When Liliana's father hire's him, they want him for that specific reason.

The audio narration by Daniel James Lewis fit well with Joe's character, his slight accent mixed well with the mafia tone that I would look for. I couldn't quite put my finger on the accent but it worked for this story line. By the end of the book I felt Joe with Lewis' voice, he really brought him to life. There were a couple of words here and there that were pronounced strangely, but it didn't effect negatively on the story. I usually prefer a duo narration when it comes to romance books so that I can really separate the characters, so I do wish there were two narrators for this type of story.

In the end this was a great listen, I enjoyed the story and really got sucked into the world with Lewis' narration.

Loved it!! I've read a couple of the misadventures books and this is by far my favorite. The writing, the characters, the plot twist and the fantastic smoking hot romance, it was everything I was looking for in a new audio. The narrator's were spot on, I felt the emotion in their voice and the chemistry was all there, Jacob and Andi are my new duo favorite.

I highly recommend this audio book for annoying looking for some steamy, humorous and emotional listen.
