In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoy Ken Follett's books & John Lee is one of the best narrators I've listened to. That said, this audio book is just like all of the CDs were ripped & put in to a larger audio file. All of the "end of disk 3" nonsense is in this recording. One of the things I really like about Audible is not having to change disks so I don't need those reminders in my recording.

It did get better towards the end. I did want to keep listening as much as possible.

Any additional comments?

I thought the narrators did a good job. I did find the sound effects (gun shots, tires screeching, etc) to be kind of corny though. It wasn't annoying but they made me grin when I should have been gripped by suspense.

How to Be Like is a "character biography" series: biographies that also draw out important lessons from the life of their subjects. In this new book - by far the most exhaustive in the series - Pat Williams tackles one of the most influential people in recent history. While many recent biographies of Walt Disney have reveled in the negative, this audiobook takes an honest but positive look at the man behind the myth. For the first time, the book pulls together all the various strands of Disney's life into one straightforward, easy-to-listen-to tale.

Would you try another book from Pat Williams and Jim Denney and/or Paul Christy?

Most likely no. I have to start by saying I am not a huge biography fan. This proves why. It was dry. Jumped all over. I have never been so happy for a book to end.

What didn’t you like about Paul Christy’s performance?

I think he was a corny gameshow host in a previous life. It's an ok voice for a 30 min show but not 16 hours.

Thentripnthrough the rocks.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes. Believe it or not, I found this book to be extremely enlightening about Aspergers. It could get a little preachy at times but I learned a lot about the disease and what people impacted by it go through. I did not expect to get an education from the book.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jodi Picoult? Why or why not?

Yes. I really like Jodi Picoult. I do find her to be a little predictable as far as story line goes but I still find her books entertaining.

Which scene was your favorite?

I can't say that I really had one.

Do you think House Rules needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Maybe. It could be interesting to know how the family is doing aft everything that they went through. Or maybe to see how Jacob deals in his later years.

Any additional comments?

Good book. I recommend it.

She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

Where does Bossypants rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Fairly low honestly. There have been so many great ones.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It was an autobiography-ish book. Real life just isn't that funny even if you are Tina Fey.

Which character – as performed by Tina Fey – was your favorite?

Tina. She was entertaining and did make me laugh. Just not what I expected entirely.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. This was a book that I listened to when there wasn't anything on the radio.

Any additional comments?

Kind of entertaining but don't expect to be rolling on the floor. It's just not going to happen. I admire Tina's accomplishments but she's more fun on tv.

No. I almost never "read" a book more than once. Not in any way a reflection of the book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Eragon?

So many. The story was not predictable. I think the part that sticks out in my head is the underground battle.

Which character – as performed by Gerard Doyle – was your favorite?

Saphira - hands down.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I will admit that I did shed a couple tears. I also laughed.

Any additional comments?

We listened to this in the car on a road trip. Two adults & a 12 year old. We were all entertained. The 12 year old boy was asking for us to hit play as soon as the car was on. When we got home we still had a couple hours left so we would listen in the evening instead of watching tv - so much more engaging!

I wasn't sure what I was getting into since this was such a long book, but I was hooked and looking for excuses to sit in my car, go for a walk, etc just so I could listen to some more of the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really liked so many of the characters. I really loved the lovable characters and I really hated the evil characters.

Which scene was your favorite?

Many. I wouldn't want to give away too much detail and ruin something for someone else!

If you could take any character from The Pillars of the Earth out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Ellen - she seems like a very colorful person that could teach you a lot about life.

I love Patricia Cornwell. I have read many of her books and have enjoyed them a lot. I would never buy another audio book narrated by CJ Critt.

What did you like best about this story?

I do truly enjoy the Kay Scarpetta books

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She read so slowly and with an awkward cadence. She took loud breaths every few words. It was so distracting and awful that I can't really even like the book as much as I could have if I had read it.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Good story. Good story line.
