This article examines Dr. Benjamin Carson's controversial speech at the February 2013 Prayer Breakfast. President Barack Obama was in attendance, but that didn't stop Ben Carson from speaking his mind. The doctor railed against political correctness, progressive taxes, Obamacare, and other core principles of the Obama administration. Was this a one-time event, or has Carson established himself as a new conservative thought leader?

Colonel Utah Blaine, held captive by the Army of the Revolution, broke out of jail and headed north from Mexico with nothing but the clothes on his back. Then he found new trouble struggling at the end of a noose - and stepped in just in time to save the life of a Texas rancher. The would-be executioners were the rancher’s own men, looking to steal his land.

Where does Utah Blaine rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Utah Blaine is the first unabridged book I have read with Audible. I am positively impressed with L'Amour's ability to bring his readers out west, right down to the final howl at the moon! Was it the land, the woman, or the wildlife that makes Utah the man he is.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Utah Blaine?

The scene where he returns to his father's wagon and he draws blood as a young boy. The scene and the noises brought me to his side, ready to help him where I could.

What about Craig Klein’s performance did you like?

His ability to disguise his voice and represent the voices of the members of the action.

If you could take any character from Utah Blaine out to dinner, who would it be and why?

That huge man Utah ran into in the saloon and ultimately beat the crap out of him. Great picture as always with Louis L'Amour at the typewriter.

Any additional comments?

I'll be reading the book Semper Fi by WEB Griffin and remember my tour of duty.

This article exposes liberals' underhanded attacks on Dr. Ben Carson. Now that Carson is a potential Republican presidential candidate, the left is attacking him on the basis of his race, religion, and political correctness. Find out what liberals are saying, and why it is unfair to the accomplished neurosurgeon.

Would you listen to The Liberal Attack on Ben Carson again? Why?

I already have reviewed this piece 3 times, and actually I am ready to debate the issues brought up in the text.

What did you like best about this story?

The thoroughness of the author as he interacted directly with those who would see Dr Carson lose the election before they even bring in a clearly contemporary candidate from the left.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did have to laugh at the comments from the left.

Since his February 7, 2013, speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, in which he confronted President Barack Obama with the truth about Obamacare, Carson has become a rising star among Republicans. Would you consider the audio edition of Ben Carson for President to be better than the print version?

Yes it was. I actually became emotionally connected with the author and was completely convinced that I needed to get off my dead end and volunteer for Dr Carson's candidacy.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

He really missed having a dad to interact with, even as much as he related to his mom and her direction.

Which character – as performed by Dorothy Deavers – was your favorite?

His mom was endearing in her effort to direct Ben as he got misdirected from reading.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

I wondered which man took a fatherly role in his life.

Any additional comments?

I suggest this essay-type writing to anyone who expresses an interest in politics, economics, or Christian life.
