Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled - until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet-cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either.... Now, Dax needs her help. As guardian to his 13-year-old sister, he's in way over his head.

The first hour or two were awesome! But then I started to zone out. And by the end, sadly I didn’t even like the hero... and usually I’m pretty forgiving of the a-hole type heroes... but this guy lost me along the way and ended up seeming like a jerk. The narrators were awesome.

The rock on her hand is real, but our engagement is a fake. Once upon a time, I dreamed of buying her a ring, until everything blew up in my face. That was the past, and this is business. At least it is until I kiss her. It's supposed to be part of the act - and it is, right until my lips touch hers. I forget where we are. I forget why I'm kissing her. I just want more. More of her taste, more of the tug of her fingers in my hair as she pulls me closer. More of her tongue stroking mine, more of her breath in my lungs. Just more. I want everything.

Couldn’t finish this one. It seemed like it was telling the stories of everyone that has ever been mentioned in one of the books. I know some people love to follow characters and their families and friends... but I guess that’s not my cup of tea. Great narrators. The story itself was fine, seemed well written, it just didn’t keep me entertained and I couldn’t get behind the H/H... as their love story had a small buildup and I didn’t really care if they had their HEA.

Kale Hunt has been her best friend since childhood. But it was never that simple. He was Lane's reason for leaving home and moving to New York. Seeing him with someone else, in love with someone else, shouldn't have hurt. But it did. It really, really did. So she upped sticks and left, started a new life and cut herself off from her past.

This is my first book by this author and it was amazing. There were some parts that were a bit hard for me to totally believe, but the other parts far outweigh those! The depth of emotions and how they were presented was perfect. I loved the flow from normal conversation to the internal commentary about the self doubt/worthlessness the heroine feels. It is something I fully understand and can relate to. Those negative thoughts automatically pop in and you always assume the worst about yourself.... and I felt it was perfectly conveyed in the book. The narrator was fantastic as well and will look for more titles that she’s done. Thank you and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

I met her among the chaos of a gang fight - one that I inadvertently started. Ember. Beautiful, feisty, and passionate. And the sister of Mercy, an infamous assassin. We fell for each other, hard. Until forces outside of our control intervened. Now, she's a prisoner, doing everything she can to keep her family safe. And I'm her guard, doing everything I can to set her free. I'd take a bullet for her. Hell, I'd take a few. In this dark, twisted world, we only have each other. But I have to wonder, is that enough?

This book had me with the first two lines... I mean really, the girl is keeping murderers waiting until she gets done doing her hair. Just brilliant. There were lots of great moments and fantastic lines. The narrators both were perfect and sold the characters to me. I definitely recommend!

Dr. Russell has a bad reputation around our hospital. I try to avoid him and his temper at all costs. It’s just as easy to admire his sexy, grip-it-while-he’s-ravishing-you hair and chiseled jaw from a healthy distance. Unfortunately, my plan crumbles when my trusty ol’ boss decides to swap his white coat for a Hawaiian shirt. His retirement leaves me with two terrible options: Switch specialties and spend months retraining or take an open position as Dr. Russell’s surgical assistant.

Manning and I have what happily ever after is made of.... A home he built us on the unshakable foundation we fought for. A life of laughter carved out of heartache and betrayal. A love story to stand the test of time. But between a trust that can’t be broken, joy that can’t be bridled, and passion that would scorch the sun, the empty spaces are becoming more and more difficult to ignore.... Fears that keep Manning up at night as he slips from our bed. Our complicated relationship with a man he respects, and one I don't know how to forgive.

This was a perfect ending. I was smiling so much throughout the book my face hurts. I rarely feel like I “know” the characters of the books I read... but by the end of this series, i wasn’t just passively viewing the story from afar... I was standing next to them and they were telling me the story. It was a great series and will definitely listen again.

If I closed my eyes, I could still see them - all blonde sunshine, ocean-blue eyes, and long limbs. The glint of Lake's gold bracelet. Pink cotton candy on Tiffany's tongue. My scenery may have changed from heaven to hell, but some things never would: my struggle to do right by both sisters. To let Lake soar. To lift Tiffany up. The sacrifices I made for them, I made willingly. A better man would've walked away by now, but I never claimed to be any good. I only promised myself I'd keep enough distance. If I'd learned one thing from my past, it was that love came in different forms. You could love passionately, hurt deep, die young. Or you could provide the kind of firm, steady support someone else could lean on.

Wow. I got this thinking I’d probably stop halfway through... you know, when the guy and girl have confessed their feelings for each other and now they magically need to call each other “baby” all the time or the alpha male comes out and it turns to orgies and S&M.... but that never happened! This explored REAL human emotions and experiences. And though the subject matter is dark... guilt, self-doubt, failure, loss... and... hope... I was laughing almost the entire time! The narrators were great too... their commitment to their characters definitely made it even better. I will recommend this book to everyone!

Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at 18 hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was. Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation - confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Seven years on, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but all it takes is seeing him again to bring back all those old feelings.

“Since when are you into guys in ties? You only like guys who look like they rob guys in ties. At gunpoint.” It was true. By 2003, my type had been well-established. There might as well have been a giant sign on my heart that said, “Good Guys Need Not Apply.” Which is exactly why I had to friendzone Ken Easton. The man was a former football star, smelled like fresh laundry instead of stale cigarettes, and had more ties in his closet than tattoos on his knuckles. Pssh. Bor-ing. But the more I got to know my hunky study buddy, the more questions I came away with.
