Fall; or, Dodge in Hell audiobook cover art

The first 10 hours were mostly ok...

The book has a good premise. The brain scan stuff is interesting. The idea of a digital afterlife would be cool, if they were the same characters. But they aren't.

The (literal) several hour unnecessary detour through Stephensons idea of a conservative dystopia was just dumb, had no payoff, or point, other than to show that Stephenson thinks that anyone that disagrees with him politically is backwards and dangerous. But I'm used to that kind of closed minded thinking, so I kept going.

Finally at the 15 hour mark nothing has happened in a long time, and I have no glimmer of hope for anything happening, and don't have anything to look forward to... And I don't think I have it in me.

A good first story of the series, leaves you wondering what's coming next.
The conflicts, characters, and settings are all pretty interesting.
I will say that I'm sad that it seems like one of the main characters is gone, but then again, maybe not...

Another great addition to the story of Mr Wong.
I've been following the story since the very beginning, and The Golden Age of the Solar Clipper books are very likely my favorite book series of all time.
I don't know if this is the last book, it kind of felt like an ending, but if so I'm very satisfied in how it finished.
The narrator did a great job as well.

I don't listen to YA novels often, but a friend recommended this author so I picked the first book up.
The story was quite good, and has some really interesting concepts.
The characters are well written.
I really enjoyed the narrator too.
I picked up the second book and am working my way through it now. So far it does not disappoint.

So over all I really enjoyed the story.
The characters were believable, and the narration was very good.
My one complaint is that the faith bashing is really heavy handed, to the point where it distracted from the story at some points and felt ironically preachy.

Another good story by David Wong, with more than your recommended yearly quota of humor and butt references.
If you enjoyed John Dies at the End, this one won't disappoint.
The narrator once again does a great job too.

So to get this out of the way, yes, this story is heavily influenced by Dr Who, but in the best ways, taking the good parts of the show and leaving out a lot of the silly fluff. No magic wand, no deus ex machina, just well thought out writing.
