Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate - and completely irresistible. A beautiful bastard. Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative - completely infuriating - creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules....

Gideon calls me his angel, but he's the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own. The vows we'd exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn't sure I was strong enough to bear.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have made this be the last book in the series.

Would you recommend Captivated by You to your friends? Why or why not?

I listened to all the others and was looking forward to this one, but I would not recommend it. Was repetitive, anticlimactic. Not sure how many books they plan to squeak out with these characters. I should have returned it, but felt bad because I listened to the whole book. It just sort of ended. No cliff hanger, no closure.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

I guess?

Do you think Captivated by You needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I expect it will, but this should have been the last book. If it was intended to be the last, I feel I missed something.

Any additional comments?

When it ended I actually thought I missed something, skipped chapters, accidentally hit fast forward by accident. If there is a plan for another book, I hope it's better than this one. I'm not really looking forward to it.

Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other.... which would explain why their marriage lasted only 12 hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman - or just what he needs.

What disappointed you about Fixed on You?

The main character were supposed to be highly intelligent, sadly the writing and narrater did not reflect those expectations. Use of "hot" as a descriptor was very poor word choice.

What could Laurelin Paige have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Be more creative. Less repetitive. The characters are supposed to be intelligent. They should be intelligent. Don't dumb it down for your readers, you lose credibility.

Would you be willing to try another one of Carly Robins’s performances?

Maybe? She has a great voice, performance was decent. Better writing would reflect her talents.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Fixed on You?

scenes were okay. Descriptive word choices were elementary. Be creative. Don't be scared to challenge your readers. If you want examples? Listen to Christina Lauren's Beautiful Player.
