There's something special about Max. He may look like your regular ginger flabby tabby, but unlike most tabbies, he can actually communicate with his human, reporter for the Hampton Cove Gazette Odelia Poole. Max takes a keen interest in the goings-on in their small town, by snooping around with his best friends. But when suddenly the body of a best-selling writer is discovered buried in the last Long Island outhouse, and a new policeman arrives in town to solve the murder, it looks like things are about to change in Hampton Cove.

A delightfully cute book. A small town reporter gets Information from her cat Max for articles. Murder and turf wars make up the body of this book. Much else would be a spoiler. Equivalent to. a Halmark movie.

This story of love and contrite retribution is a power of it's own. Why decisions have to be muddled by love and hate are a true mystery. I am glad this story is told in such a loving way. There are no victors. Just survival. What happens to people who try to live but are stuck in a tumultuous way of survival is sad. Survivors must move forward and regain the sole that sunk from sight.

The story was so well laid out. I had no clue as to anything. I had to wait for the author to skillfully feed me each and every line. The content was definitely designed for mature persons. I can't say adults because the story shows that not all adults are mature. I highly recommend this book.

Kat and Doug felt like Aurora Village was the perfect community. Minutes from the city, affluent without pretension, low crime with a friendly vibe - it’s everything Kat never had, and that she’s determined to provide for her infant daughter. But everything changes overnight when Kat finds a scrawled note outside their front door. That wasn’t very neighborly of you.
