I broke her heart 10 years ago and left town. She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young - and too afraid - to fight for what I wanted. But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

Well written and we'll performed. The story of young love gone awry, rekindled and struggled for, is well thought out and we'll executed, if occasionally ungrammatical. This is a story that is worth the read and realistic yet very enjoyable. You leave the story knowing that there will be some hard times ahead, but there will be some very good times, too. I will be looking for more!

Nayna Sharma agreed to an arranged marriage in the hope it would heal the fractures in her beloved family....only to realize too late that a traditional marriage is her personal nightmare. Panicked, she throws caution to the winds, puts on the tiniest dress she can find, and ends up in the arms of a tall, rough-edged hunk of a man who has abs of steel - and whom she manages to mortally insult between one kiss and the next. Abandoned as a child, then adopted into a loving family, Raj Sen believes in tradition, in continuity.

Nalini Singh has created a portrayal so true to life that the reader feels certain they have met each character somewhere before. I find myself rooting hard for the best outcome, arguing out loud with characters for the survival of the best relationship possible, and thrilled with the twists and turns that keep us from ever knowing how it will all work out. Nalini Singh is my hero.

Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes - obscure Bible verses, odd symbols - have the police stumped. Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has been there only a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.

What do you say about a writer who gets better with every book, when he started out as a five star? Baldacci's understanding of the human character is so well portrayed in this book. When a 'disability' is made into a super power, what do you do if that ability is brought into question? The torment of not being able to forget falters and your identity is shaken? So much is going on in this book, but Baldacci keeps on target, does not stumble or lose track of any particle of his characters and their quirks. DELIGHTFUL!! Kept me guessing until the end -- very unusual!

A delightful story, well-told and often humorous, with fascinating characters from two different centuries. Although, being more than a bit headstrong, myself, I did find the female lead to be frustratingly foolish at times, that was a stated flaw in her character, and was, therefore, easy to forgive. Thank you for another excellent story of love, fought for and won!
