Senior citizen decides to be a spy, hilarity and luck follow. cute plot, and only the beginning of the series.

Narrator did a wonderful job with voice differences. easy to listen to in a couple of sessions.

long, and this is only 1/2 of the story...

it's long, very well researched, and has twists up till the very end of book 2. if you like historical novels, this one is for you. the time travel bits are not over the top in the suspension of disbelief.

British comedy + home front shenanigans. shines an amusing light on everyday life in extraordinary circumstances. ex war hero, bumbling momma's boy, trader of all things rationed, it has all the expected characters.

several short shows, easy to listen to on a commute, or as a break between more serious content.

Slowest Mandarin I have found. Very clear tones. Popular children's song of little rabbit is spoken and sung. My children and I enjoyed it.

Several short stories in clear and slow(ish) Mandarin. Small musical separation between stories. Good for those learning the language to hear proper tones.

Read by himself and tells the good and hard times in an honest way. Well worth the credit, and a lovely weekend listen to chase away any winter blues.

Begining seems like a rehash of book 2 at first, but stick with it and you will see it to be very unique. This has less sadness and gore vs books 1 and 2 which was nice to see as another book of that would have been too much for the series. Audio is clear and easy to listen on double speed.

The voice that makes me smile.

Tim Curry reading Jules Verne. How could it not be phenomenal?

His voice is perfect to take you on the journey, lead you into suspense, drop you into the story and have you wanting more.

Buy this version. I will always hear this in Tim Curry's voice as long as I live.

I study Mandarin and Chinese history and work with Chinese colleagues. this series provided me an insight into the history, current government interworking and cultural norms that no other set of resources has.

the segments are short, but perfect to allow you to absorb the material. after this I have been hooked in the great courses series, but this is the best one I have found.

well worth the credit!

easy listening, good narrator ( same as first book ). fun story that the entire family can enjoy without it being overly child centered.
