An elderly woman is found murdered in her own home, and Detective Lottie Parker and her partner Detective Boyd are called in to investigate. When they discover that the victim's daughter is missing as well, they start to fear for the safety of the whole family.... Two days later, as a nearby house is set on fire, and with the body count rising, Lottie and her team begin to unpick a web of secrets and lies, as the murders seem to link back to a case investigated by Lottie's father before he took his own life.

Oh what a devious mind this author has. I wish I was as smart to be able to right a story
so complicated. This story is extraordinary, it has the problems we face today with life and our children. Then it captures the past and the events that shaped us, including all the skeletons in our closet, real and imagined. If you don’t read this series you will regret it. I’m heading for the next one in the series. Enjoy!!!

Months after the war with Borland and his vicious were-brood, Kirk and Morris are experiencing curious after-effects. They're stronger, faster, and no longer vulnerable to the sharp sting of silver. There is one concern, however. They're forever hungry, and nothing they eat provides the same nourishment as what they consumed on the island of Newfoundland. And when a mysterious stranger rides into Moses Morris's territory wishing to hunt, the were-warden knows the visitor isn't after deer.

I really enjoy this series, it's very different from the usual Werewolf stories.
I like the characters especially Kirk who really doesn't like his other self. He hangs onto his humanity as hard as he can and is reluctant to explore his Werewolf self and let himself go. He wants to protect the human population- although some of his brethren like to eat them. Looking forward to the next book and more from this author.

Eve Hardaway, newly single mother of one, is on a trip she’s long dreamed of - a rafting and hiking tour through the jungles and mountains of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico. Eve wanders off the trail, to a house in the distance with a menacing man in the yard beyond it, throwing machetes at a human-shaped target. Disturbed by the sight, Eve moves quickly and quietly back to her group, taking care to avoid being seen. As she creeps along, she finds a broken digital camera, marked with the name Teresa Hamilton.

Love any books written by this author.
Great story line and happy the protagonist was female and that she prevailed against a monster. As usual well written and lots of surprises. Great ending.
Only complaint I had was with editing, someone had a seriously bad day. Parts were jumbled and around chapters 56/57 it kept repeating itself. Spoiled my listening-

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.
