I've liked other books from this author. wasn't crazy about this one though. I though it started strong but dragged along and had a bit of an abrupt and weak ending. And Lucy, the character we encounter over and over, remains a mystery.

Its so hard to find a book that has reasonable and believable characters and a strong storyline. This was one of those rare finds. Not that it was 100% perfect but way better than many I've come across.

The lecturer seems to think she's reading a fun, happy and amusing story, to kids!
I have to exchange this book.

I like the great courses a lot. I enjoy it more when it feels like a real life class. Great example is "story of human language". This felt like reading off a script and not the best at that either. The material was all right.

The book starts rather coherently with one memory here and another there. I feel this was a rushed work, could have been way better structured. Horrific story, reminded me very much of Holocaust, and I think it was worse in some aspects. With better authorship and structure to the story, it could have been much better.
Narration is really awful. Regardless, I still think this is very informative and a must to know about. I do wish Nadia and her fellow Yazidis the best.

One major problem I have with all Robotham's books is, I can't put them down. This was no exception. Performance is EXCELLENT!

The tone and voice of the narrator is very annoying when he tries to do the women's part. Some of these characters are very strong women and he does not seem to realize that. They all seem like miserable feeble crying women.
