Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Catch a tiger by its toe. It's seared into Atlee Pine's memory: the kidnapper's chilling rhyme as he chose between six-year-old Atlee and her twin sister, Mercy. Mercy was taken. Atlee was spared. She never saw Mercy again. Three decades after that terrifying night, Atlee Pine works for the FBI. She's the lone agent assigned to the Shattered Rock, Arizona resident agency, which is responsible for protecting the Grand Canyon. So when one of the Grand Canyon's mules is found stabbed to death at the bottom of the canyon - and its rider missing - Pine is called in to investigate.

I love the Reel and Robie series, or is it Robie and Reel? They both kick ass and take names later. I just wish Jessica would stop over analyzing their relationship and get on with loving Robie!! They are meant for each other! I love the way David Baldacci writes his strong female characters, I love how Reel can handle any fire arm that comes her way and do it like a boss!! love it!! You can't help but love Will Robie, lean mean and powerful, yum!!

At times I wanted to fast forward only because the author stagnated in parts. It would go over and over saying the same thing and not move forward. But I stuck with it because it is a good story and I wanted to see what happened at the end. I would have given it 5 stars but the fact that a couple times I found myself saying "just do it!" I couldn't. That said I did like the book and if you can stick with it it's a good story.

So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. First it was the army and the military police, then the police in St. Paul, and finally Lucas Davenport brought him into the BCA, promising him, "We'll only give you the hard stuff."
