If you are expecting this book to be as good as the first, please throttle your expectations. The series overall is interesting but the author did the bare minimum to keep the reader/listener interested. I thought it was very interesting to hear about the Chinese during the book, but that was one of the few interesting parts of the book. I am hoping that the next book will continue on from the first book and we can put this book behind us.

I loved that the book was not set in Medieval times. It gave a whole new perspective to fantasy literature due to this and it was interesting to listen to how dragons would be used in a more advanced civilization. The author did a great job of bringing in historical events into storyline while not overwhelming the reader with science fiction.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

Great book for anyone who appreciates video games. By the 2nd chapter, I was hooked. The world that Ernest Cline built was fascinating and wanting more. I hope that he follows this up with something else.
