She is the single most horrifying aspect of his life, and the only thing he has ever enjoyed about her are their truly spectacular fights. Throughly enjoyable. I listen as I do my errands. It takes me so much longer now. I can’t seem to stop until it gets to the end of the chapter. Love the intrigue and tet a tet between the couples. Just a fun read for sure.

A delightful read. It never ceases to amaze me of all the rules and regulations they had to abide by just to survive the Ton and stay on top and away from scandal. Makes me crazy to think about it!!!! I don’t know how they did it.

When Persephone Lancaster receives a marriage proposal from the ill-tempered Duke of Kielder, she refuses - and then reconsiders. The obscene sum of money he's offering Persephone would save her family from ruin. With her characteristic optimism, she travels to the far reaches of Northumberland to wed a greatly feared stranger. Lodged deep in a thick forest infested with wild dogs, the Duke's castle is as cold and forbidding as the Duke himself, a man with terrible scars on his body and his soul.

Good story. Loved the details. Enjoyed learning a bit of history along the way. I must say I really didn’t like the music in between. I kept thinking the story was over and that annoyed me. I was so involved in the story and then the music sounded. Yikes, don’t do that again.

Delightful and heart gripping. The fear and savagery of war are very real. I just finished the book and I’m still unsettled by the vivid descriptions laid out in the book. Though there weren’t many, it was enough to print the pictures. Well done. I need something lighthearted now.
