I waffled about listening to this book for months and then, I finally read "The Weight of Lies". It's a much more enjoyable reading than I could have imagined. The villian kept changing in my mind's eye with every chapter which says a lot about the excellent author and narrator. Read it and be entertained!

Kerra Bailey is a television journalist on the rise, and she's hot on the trail of a story guaranteed to skyrocket her career to even greater heights: an interview with the legendary Major Trapper. Twenty-five years ago, the major emerged a hero from the bombing of the Pegasus Hotel in downtown Dallas when he was photographed leading a handful of survivors out of the collapsing building. The iconic picture transformed him into a beloved national icon, in constant demand for speeches and interviews - until he suddenly dropped out of the public eye.

I really wanted to like this book but the constant explicit descriptions of bedroom stuff turned me off. I got the attraction between the main characters the first 15 minute description of what they wanted to do to each other, so more descriptions and no action was too much!

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I was hesitant to listen to this book because I thought it would have disturbing torture in it. It doesn't. It is about futuristic concepts conceived in the late 1890's and how they impact a specific apartment's tenants today. I can't say more or I will spoil the surprises in this excellently read book!
