Consistently entertaining story from one of my favorite thriller authors. From beginning to end it's exciting and well-paced, written with an entertaining style that is just enhanced by the narration of Ray Porter, one of my favorite narrators.

A hard sci-fi thrilling adventure, this one will keep you guessing from the edge of your seat until the last few pages.

Highly recommend this and any other Scott Sigler audiobooks (and hard copy) that you can find. You won't be disappointed.

Top notch first book in what promises to be a worthwhile series. A distressing look at what would happen if religious zealots had their way in a dystopian America, complete with reformation camps and futuristic technology.

Adding her skillz to the mix is narrator Jessica McEvoy, who kills it doing voice work for many excellent podcasts (like NoSleep, The Wicked Library and countless others).

Keep up the fine work folks.

Would you listen to Son of the Black Sword again? Why?

I sure hope the next book in the saga is en route, because this one was a real page turner and I've been thinking about it since I heard it years ago. Top notch fantasy story with some serious potential. Highly recommend.

an unsettling example of psychological disorder, or a paranormal assault on a young woman's mind?
a surprising and convincing tale of madness and mystery, charming humor and gripping suspense. written with intelligence and insight. narrated by talented and convincing voice artists with backing effects and music.
nothing like what I'd expected but everything I was looking for. the end scene + afterword made my skin crawl. this one will stay with me forever, I imagine.

all around great story. likeable characters in a fun/creepy haunted house/ghost story. short and to the point, it lacks drawn out scenes and frivolous detail. meant for a younger audience, it doesn't rely on gory violence or disturbing perversions to be creepy, just old fashioned scary story-telling. looking forward to exploring the author's other works.

one of my new favorite authors. unique stories not quite definable by genre, but possessing qualities of many at times. great narration by the author in this case (nobody knows a book as well as its author). I highly recommend his other stories as well, which are equally as enjoyably weird.
