This is the second edition of a uniquely empowering, international word-of-mouth best seller about wild landscapes, female mythology, and the challenges facing modern women. It is a book for any woman who has ever lost her way and who sees a wasteland at the heart of modern existence and longs to live a more authentic, rooted life once again.

This is a must listen for all women and the men who care about them and want to evolve their own place in the world. (It was recommended to me by a man!) I fell so totally in love with this wonderful work that I downloaded the Kindle version so I could read it as well. One of the best Memoirs I have ever come across ~ from the voice, to the content, to the myths woven in. Don't miss this one.

There is something fascinating or funny or truly bizarre on every page of this true tale of floral obsession: the story of how the head of a famous Seminole chief came to be displayed in the front window of a local pharmacy; or how 700 iguanas were smuggled into Florida; or the case of the only known extraterrestrial plant crime.

As a Florida native who used to be married to an orchid man, I greatly enjoyed this true to life story; it's history, research and main character development. I also appreciated the insights into the human psyche illuminating our lust for and obsession with possessing living things of beauty at any cost, ultimately destroying that which is the object of our desire.

Entering the terrain of wisdom comes at any age. We sometimes step, sometimes stumble, and other times are pulled into the territory of the Crone when the need for a deeper, larger understanding of our most meaningful paths in life can no longer be denied, and when the gifts are hidden in our challenges must be brought forth.
