This could otherwise be am insignificant memoirs of a soldier during a war.. but his account, having been documented day by day over s period of 30 years in which he bubbled himself into an imaginary world that justified his commitment to a dated mission that eventually became self serving objective. near Free from postmortem perspective and hindsight opinions, it was a rollercoaster of emotions and personal involvement through the events that transpired.

With the exception of few dated cultural and technological references (and lack of few others); the book could've bee. easily written in the 21st century and would still make awful lot of sense and offer an incredible critique of the state of affairs in the field of science, knowledge and enlightenment that is equally troubling as it is important to pay attention to..

though the book gets into boggling tangents at times, it'll definitely have you question the eventuality of things that occur to you and the world around you.. the narrator's cynicism dramatise the writers intent beautifully.

irrespective of which direction your prepositions on AI (or lack thereof) you'll find yourself challenged and positively dragged into engaging fundamental issues not only about AI but life in its entirety, your being, conscientiousness and purpose.. many classic and modern cultural references are made some may find them like a gap in context but the book find ila way to regroup back into its arc..

The book while obviously academic in back ground; yet smoothly layout the premise in simple language with no expectations of prior poltical or economic background, highlighting intriguing historical context and parallels that motivates the underlying premise of the book. So much so that the reader will be able to interpret her or his surrounding (be it in an under developed nation or otherwise prosperous) and appreciate the forces at play behind its current state of affairs

Irrespective of were the listener stand on the ideological spectrum or political horseshoe; the book will serve a refreshing and challenging (at times) dose of cultural commentary that's definitely missed, if one was able to dismiss Peterson's current online fame and any controversy he seem to be part of or assumed political or ideological inclinations this plays into.

This book will fundamentally force the listener to rethink one's own perspective in her or his own life (or lack thereof) and make a conscious decision to do something about it or otherwise become aware (and live with) the ramifications of such indecision.

As a non-Christian it was hard at times to follow the extensive biblical references he repurposes to motivate some of the arguments presented; but still understood its context. It did feel at times as if the obvious is being stated, but many who have find themselves stuck in their lives usually miss the obvious and need that someone to remind them of it.
