Jaime Primak Sullivan, a Jersey-bred, tough-as-nails PR maven - and unlikely transplant in an upscale suburb of Birmingham, Alabama - has spent her entire life crossing the line: whether she's pushing the boundaries of what proper Southern ladies consider to be "polite behavior" or literally traversing the Mason-Dixon line in the name of love. She isn't afraid to say what everyone is thinking when it comes to love, sex, friendship, and many other topics that are all too often sugar-coated in polite Southern company.

This book was recommended by Audible. So, I took the bait. I loved this book. I especially enjoyed the author reading her own book with her Jersey accent.

Thank you!!

Best-selling author Diane Chamberlain delivers a breakout book about a small southern town 50 years ago, and the darkest - and most hopeful - places in the human heart. After losing her parents, 15-year-old Ivy Hart is left to care for her grandmother, older sister, and nephew as tenants on a small tobacco farm. As she struggles with her grandmother’s aging, her sister’s mental illness, and her own epilepsy, she realizes they might need more than she can give. When Jane Forrester takes a position as Grace County’s newest social worker, she doesn’t realize just how much her help is needed.

I truly enjoy books filled with historical facts and snapshots of culture differences. Thank goodness times have changed!. This story was written and translated so well that you could visualize the characters, the scenery and the sounds of the events taking place. What a delight.

I will recommend this book to many of my book-loving friends.

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

What would have made Bossypants better?

I was expecting to laugh out loud and enjoy all of Tina's quick wit. I was disappointed. I couldn't even bring myself to finishing this audiobook.
