What do you do when someone has broken not only your trust, but often your body too? This tale has been seen before, someone badly abused, afraid of everyone, trusting no one, but the abuser. Well, she got away, divorced and got a restraining order, but that sure doesn’t stop him from coming over. I found it a bit stereotypical in some parts but really enjoyed this book. The ending caught me by surprise a couple times and I’d read / listen to more from this author

It’s cool the way the story is from the dogs perspective and the cleaver way they see it completely opposite as the humans. I found the narrators voice to be a bit gruff at the start but I got used to it and found it matched the personality of the dogs. I really enjoyed this one once I got into it.

Second book doesn’t disappoint!!! You didn’t think it would be finished after the first once she told the world about her “kind”. They’ve moved into a new community but life isn’t easy! With new and old enemies, I found it fast paced and finished in just a couple days. Loved the new characters and development. Cannot wait to listen to the next one. Great and clear narration that adds to the story.

When Vicksburg fell to Union forces under General Grant in July 1863, the balance turned against the Confederacy in the trans-Appalachian theater. The Federal success along the river opened the way for advances into central and eastern Tennessee, which culminated in the bloody battle of Chickamauga and then a struggle for Chattanooga. Chickamauga is usually counted as a Confederate victory, albeit a costly one.

While I’ve always loved historical fiction this is the first time I’ve listened to something like this. I wasn’t sure at first but I found it completely fascinating. How many times the war could have ended either sooner or with different results if generals had been better informed, had listened, or disregarded orders throughout the war. It’s not gory and quite an interesting listen. I would recommend this audible book.

The journey continues with the second daughter. But things are more rocky then before. The relationship between the first son and third daughter Is like that of any other young couple. There is uncertainty and worry, assumed betrayal and of course, with the Royals, there are rumours. Not to mention the growing concerns of war between the three Queendom’s. I love the life that audible provides to the story and the way the author continues to keep you in suspense and often surprising you with different outcomes. I look forward to book 3!!!

This is a series I could get lost in, locked in my room, hiding from the world for days until getting the chance to hear it all. From the lowest in society, stealing and scamming for money to buy food..... then becoming one of the highest held in esteem - by accident. I love the detail, characters and plot. I cannot wait to start the second. I listened to this in nearly a single day, while redoing the lock stone in my driveway. I couldn’t believe it had been 7+ hours because I was engaged in the story while working. Made time pass so much faster than if I’d been doing that work without. Very excited to listen to the next one :)

This is the first I’ve read in the series and it had me staying up late and listening in the car every chance I got. At first I was thinking it was just going to be the story of a spoiled rich princess, secretly in love with someone far below her station, but it was soooo much more. There was adventure, unexpected twists and it just kept me wanting to know more. Very well written and the narration is wonderfully done as well.
