This was a great story, once I got started I couldn't stop. I thought the narrator did an excellent job of portraying the characters. I also was shocked by the ending which doesn't happen for me very often. I highly recommend this book.

In Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary's truths are failing her. She's learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness.

I really wanted to like this book. The zombie Shauna is so popular right now that to have a Y is on the book that’s good would be into video and gift. Right away I just like the offers performance, her voice is very dry and whiny, with minimal emotional and flexion.
*****Spoiler Alert******
The book started out very promising with Mary entering the sisterhood. There was so many amazing things that could’ve happened from there, as their secrets could’ve been revealed in the past could’ve been unraveled… However I was disappointed. Nothing was unravelled and despite hints at it there were no secrets revealed. As the book continues the situation of the survivors becomes more and more hopeless until all of them are either picked up or left for dead except Mary. I was very disappointed in the ending I found it very anti-climactic. So her friends are stuck behind the fence and God knows what happens to them, and I guess her brother is dead. Very disappointing. Then we don’t even know what happens to her as she walks at the beach to the lighthouse.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I so enjoyed this book. The characters were likable, and enjoyable to read about. I also thought they were very real in their problems and emotions. The narrator did an excellent job of the training not only the characters in the story but the monsters. I was never bored by his narration. I highly recommend this book it was stellar in my opinion. It's one of those rare books and I never wanted to end.

I have read a lot of reviews talking about help the ending of this book is predictable. Yeah, I suppose in a way it is, but the reactions of the characters in the story to this ending was what was truly intriguing. There was a lot of twists and turns in this story and a lot of surprises. So ultimately I didn't find this story predictable at all. So far I think excellently done. I have already downloaded the second book in this Trilogy, and I can't wait to get started
