Loved this story, from start to finish. I thought the first book was good, but the 2nd and 3rd surpassed it. I need more! Highly recommend. If you liked Harry Potter, Ella Enchanted, and books by Tamora Pierce, you are bound to love this series. I liked the narrator as well.

I’m 28 and listening to this story for the first time. Loved it. Very “Neverending Story”, many cool/unique trials with complex characters and motivations. Great vocabulary/writing. Highly recommend for fantasy lovers!

The stories may have actually been good. I found the narration to be off-putting and distracting from the storylines (talks too fast, too loud or too soft, incorrect pronunciation of words, terrible/distracting background music). I couldn’t tell you what a single story is about, but they didn’t seem to be too scary. Reading this book may be better. Go buy a different collection of scary stories.

The author tied the stories together subtly in a neat kind of way. I didn't fully realize this until halfway through my second listen, when the names between stories were sounding familiar.

The stories themselves were dece. Not much nausea- or chill-inducing terror and gory horror, but the stories definitely contain dark and unfortunate events.

Excellent narration. Some stories are not as much scary as they are horrifyingly depressing and dreary... But there are some real toe-curlers in this collection that will make your spine tingle and your stomach feel nauseous. Overall, a good purchase.

The first story in the collection was terrible. The background music was so distracting that I couldn't even really understand what the story was about. However, the music became less prominent in subsequent stories. The plots of the stories were okay... A few had some decent twists... But on the whole, nothing really new, shocking, or gut-wrenching/chill-inducing. Not my #1 pick. I'm not sure if I'll be buying anymore of Fangoria's Dreadtime stories. I like darker tales.

Not the scariest collection but there were certainly some stories that would wrench at the gut! Interesting premise and great narration. I'd classify these stories as "moderately" freaky. Just enough "ew" to keep you gripped!

Great narration, but the stories were only "meh" for me. They didn't get my pulse racing, it was more of a mild "Huh. Well that was creative" feeling. If you're into hardcore horror that really sets your teeth on edge, I wouldn't recommend this collection. Very mild.

The stories were okay - subtle with a decent punch at the end.

I found it nearly impossible to stay engaged while listening because the narration was so monotone. I'm an avid consumer of audiobooks and this is one of the worst narrations I've heard - the lack of inflection or rhythm changes made it almost sound like a droning hum. I'd recommend reading these stories over listening to this narration.
