The Blank Slate is a well written and well researched refutation of the "environmental" or "societal" argument for general human behaviour. Pinker demonstrates that most or at least a good deal of our actions are due to genetic inheritance which stretches across millions of years. We have all encountered and perhaps have even employed the "it's society's fault" argument. But if society is to blame, who dictates or influences the society if not humans such as you and me? And if society is bad now, when exactly was it good? If these arguments and concepts intrigue you, I highly recommend The Blank Slate.

A surprisingly concise and enjoyable autobiography read by the author himself. An enjoyable listen recommended for songwriters, artists, and free-spirited people generally. I suggest listening to this title while enjoying a nice summer stroll through the woods.
