This was a really good book that I listened to on audio. This was book 1 of the "Pelican Bay" series. Nolan Grainger returned to the small Minnesota town that he grew up in after 10 years when his father had a stroke and his mother needed help. Nolan is a classically trained violinist he is also broken hearted after his ex accused him of stealing a million dollar violin his ex Tre also kept his favorite violin. When Nolan finds a baby racoon he takes it to a wild sanctuary that is run by his high school crush Dallas Kent. Dallas as also been through a lot in the 10 years he was the towns golden boy with a full baseball scholarship until he was in a car accident that killed his mother and damaged his voice box. I didn't like Nolan's mother and would have told her off long before he did she was ungrateful and a snob the towns people was also not right while in high school Nolan was bullied and Dallas felt guilty because he didn't do anything about. The town also blamed Dallas for the deaths of his mother and his father when they didn't even have the whole story for 10 years he was an outcast. Dallas gives Nolan a job helping him at the sanctuary when no one in town would hire him so he could help his parents. I liked both of these character's and I felt bad for them both and I even cried. When Dallas's brother Maddox returns to town he is unable to deal with it after the town bullies hurt a couple of the animals they try to get it shut down until his brother steps in and helps him. Nolan is also cleared of stealing the violin he gets a shot of preforming again and Dallas wonders if he would lose him. This was a really good read with no errors in grammar or spelling I also really liked the narrator's voice. I am looking forward to listening to the next book in this series.

He's left his past exactly where it belongs and refuses to look back. And he sure as hell isn't going to risk a repeat of his former mistakes by letting someone as sweet, sexy and endearingly vulnerable as Connor Talbot into his life. His bed maybe, but not his life.

This was book 4 and the last book in the "Barretti Security" series. We first met both of these characters in book 3 Connor Connor Talbot is Jagger's best friend the met while serving in the military. Connor was hit with an IED and he lost one of his legs. Zane Devereaux is a Criminal defense attorney he was having a sexual relationship with Declan before he met and fell in love with Ren and Jagger. When Jagger beats up Connors ex Declan gets Zane to handle the case. This was a really good read Connor and Zane began having sex in a hotel Zane wants a sex without emotions kind of relationship but as he and Connor continue to do this they each begin to get feelings. Zane suffers from abandonment his mother left him and his father when he was six his father died when he was 13 and his mother didn't want him he was also abused in foster care. Connor was also raised by relatives when his parents died in fire. Connor who also suffer a brain injury was abused and taken advantage of by his ex. I felt really back for him I mean what more could this man take. I didn't really like Zane in the last book in this one we find out why he was the way he was. When Connor is hurt by his abusive stalker ex Zane realizes how much Connor means to him he also see that all of Connors friends including the Barretti's. This was a really good book that I liked a lot. Connor was good for Zane the day Zane quit his job they get a surprise. This book was really good with no errors in grammar or spelling.

Her heart, though, is back up North, with the only man who has ever gotten through her defenses: Assail, who never meant to fall in love - certainly not with a human woman. But they have no future, and not just because she doesn’t know he is a vampire, but because he is not about to stop dealing arms to the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Fate, however, has other plans for them.

This as book 16 in the "Black Dagger Brotherhood" series. Marisol "Sola" Morte left Caldwell after falling in love with Assail she is on the run from drug dealers. Assail has been in a cocaine withdrawal coma for months and its only a matter of time before he dies. V and Jane continue to have problems to the point that V almost cheated on her when she finds out she leaves him. I wanted to slap V and Jane because they both were putting other things before each other and Manny did the right thing when he forced her to take time off from the clinic. The brothers find out that their is a new player in the war it seems that one of Xcor's former bastards have found away to make is own army that he is using to kill other vamps. When Assails cousin's find Sola they ask her to come to Assail after Jane tells them that its time to let him go she says no but her grandmother makes her go to him and he comes out of it when she tells him that she loves him. Sola doesn't know that he is a vamp and while feeding from a chosen he starts to get better fast. When Jane is shot she goes up to the sanctuary V thinks he has loss her forever until Lassiter takes him to the sanctuary they find that a book has been taken. As always there was a lot going on in this book with Assail and Sola dealing with Ben Louise sister Victoria who was a killer like her brothers. V and Jane and the fact that Throe is using that book to make shadows and their personal stuff and the fact that his mother the Scribe Virgin is gone. This book was well written or read as I listened to it on audio with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading or listening to the next book about Murhder who went crazy because of Xhex and why he wants to have a meeting with the King.

This was book 3 in the "Barretti Security" series. Ren Barretti has finally come home after a year of being held captive by the terrorists who slaughtered his entire Special Forces team. But he can't escape the nightmares that torment him or the guilt that he was the only one to walk away. Ren is suffers from PTSD and he left because he didn't want to hurt anyone in his family like he almost hurt Mia his big brother Vin's girlfriend. Police Detective Declan Hale has felt an undeniable pull towards the very straight Ren Barretti since the day Ren's brother Dom married Declan's younger sister Sylvie almost a dozen years earlier. Tough as nails former soldier and mercenary Jagger Varos has returned to Seattle after years of running from his past and he's hoping that joining Barretti Security Group will help him finally call the city he left behind home. But within weeks, his new beginning is tested after multiple run-ins with the gruff, infuriating Detective Hale. When he inadvertently discovers that Declan is hiding Ren from the very brothers offering Jagger a new start, Jagger finds himself torn between his newfound loyalty to Vin and Dom Barretti and the need to protect the young man he himself helped rescue from his captors. This was a really good read Declan and Jagger took care of Ren showing him that he was safe with them. Each man has been through a lot Jagger with his mother and her boyfriend who is Declan's boss who has had it out for him Jagger also suffered from dyslexia and he was a shame of it and thought that they wouldn't want him when they found out. Declan also went through things like he is in the closet no one knows he is gay and when he told his grandfather he was almost disowned. Ren was straight and he was even more confused when he started having feelings for both men. The sex scenes in this book were hot as hell the three of them had some hot chemistry. This book also brought home the dangers of war and the PTSD seemed so real for me someone who has worked with men and women who have been to war and some of the things that they struggle with when they come home. Each of these men have been through somethings in their past that with the three of them it made them whole. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading and listening to the next book in this series.

Noah Campbell came to the US from Canada after leaving his boyfriend he always wanted to come to San Francisco he takes a job with Sally the Love Junk sales lady while he waits for his Nursing Licenses to transfer. His first time selling was at Dante and AJ's impromptu bachelor party he was shocked and embarrassed, but the Marian family takes him under their wing and make a bet to see who can find him love by setting him up with someone. Luke is a childhood friend and his roommate he is a manwhore his friends with benefits is a model named Victor. Noah has always had a crush on Luke, but he looks at Noah like a little brother and he is afraid of Noah's big brother. Noah is also keeping his sales job a secret from him when Noah begins dating he meets some people that he becomes friends with. Luke doesn't want Noah dating anyone he wants him but he is scared of commitment. Noah has some good dates and some not so good like Jordan who works as a vet with the family he comes on too strong or Josh who we met in book two he still has a thing for Jaime. Jude and Derek fix him up with Baker who he really likes but he is not Luke. When Luke and Noah have sex it is hot and heavy until Noah's brother and his ex show up. I really liked both of these character's one was afraid of commitment and the other couldn't do the whole sex without it. When Noah moves out he moves in with Dante and AJ. While out on a date with Haywood from book five he has an accident and ends up in the hospital with all the Marians at his side. This was a really good book and when Noah gets drunk Luke finds out what he is really selling it was funny or when Tilly tries to fix him with a friends son who turns out to be straight and doing one of his mother's friends it was funny and Granny and Irene trying to hook him up with a leather daddy I laughed so hard I cried. Dante is a quite shy 23 year old virgin he also has panic attacks. Angel "AJ" Flores is the nephew of Londa she is the woman ran the youth center. AJ just moved to S.F. to start a new job with on the Six a security firm that Derek use to work for. AJ has a secret he was the man that rescued Dante eight years ago he doesn't want to get to close to Dante, but he is very attracted to him. Dante has a lot of demons in his past that he thought he dealt with but when his father begins running for Congress he is put back in the stoplight along with being the director of "Marian House" . This book was funny and nothing was funnier than Aunt Tilly, Granny and Irene and the sex toy party trying to learn how to give BJ's. Also in this book Tilly gets in some trouble when she gets drunk in Vegas and marries a Senator and the Secret Services shows up looking for her. This was a really good book and AJ and Dante has a few issues to get over like Dante realizing that AJ was the Angel that rescued him. I had a lot of issues with his parents although it was is mother that called AJ's dad to rescue Dante she did not stand up for him what kind of mother wouldn't be their for there child. His father was a real piece of work he was a reverend and to treat his only child the way he did was something I will never understand I know that this is a book but there are people in this world who treat there kids this way is just sad to me. This book had some hot sex scenes in it I liked that AJ was patient with Dante and didn't want to rush him. Tate Travers has been on the run for two years with his little boy Mattie turns out he is on the run from his brother and his father. When Hawke pulls a gun on them Tate tells him that he has the wrong brother and he doesn't know where they are. When he leaves Tate runs again when he takes Mattie to the doctor he finds out that his son has leukemia he doesn't know what he's going to do he doesn't have the money to pay for treatment until Hawke shows up and pays for it they make a deal he will pay for the treatment if Tate agrees to help him. Hawke has been living for the day to make the men that killed his wife and baby and nothing else along with Ronan he rids the world of criminals who get away with some of the worse crimes known to men. Hawke is straight but he can't explain the feeling he gets when he looks at Tate. This was a really good book Tate just wanted to be loved but Hawke doesn't know how to let his wife go he hasn't been with anyone in ten years as Mattie begins treatment with the help of Ronan and Seth they leave and go to Tate's hometown. They don't find Buck or Denny. When they have sex it is rough and lacking lube which I didn't like because Hawke almost rapes Tate and Tate is willing to take it because he needs someone and so does Tate.
