Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate - and completely irresistible. A beautiful bastard. Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative - completely infuriating - creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules....

This is a story wrapped around sex. I know this is well written because they have sex in the craziest places with the craziest position for the craziest reason and it all seems reasonable. I don't know if it is the story or the reader that catches you right away, but I was in from the start.

And the sex...if you don't enjoy books that steam, keep looking for your next title. If you enjoy listening to the struggles of physical romance...this is your book.

When finished I checked Audible to see what else they had of Christina Lauren's and unfortunately this is a lone book. I hope that ends soon. I am very anxious to see what else she has written. I enjoyed these two fighting, the sex, fighting, the sex---okay, you understand.

It isn't deep, fine literature (thank heavens!!), but it is a fun listen. Enjoy!

What would have made Fatal Deception better?

This is the 5th book inthe "Fatal" series by Marie Force. The first book takes you by storm and the storm hasn't stopped yet. I suppose any could be read alone, but if read in order if you can. I hated to have the story stop---I'll need to wait months for another installment!I read dozens of books each month---few have gripped me so quickly and entertained me so well as the "Fatal" books. This one doesn't disappoint!

I enjoy most Baldacci books, and this is a very good Baldacci. I do not hesitate to recommend this government thriller to anyone who enjoys the genre. The multiple readers and occasional sound effects helped the story. Very strong performance to hold this excellent story. Enjoy!

Would you listen to The Witness again? Why?

I rarely listen to a book more than once, but this one may be the exception. I like ALL of Nora Roberts books, but this has got to be my new Nora favorite. Wow, she put it all together.
I listen to several hundred books a year, so I was glad when I saw this one was over 16 hours. Not once was I ready for it to end----not even when it actually did! I am stingy with strong praise but this book gets mine. Romance, bad guys/good guys, gun fights, female brains---this book has it all. I don't think many men would enjoy it as much as women will. It is more chick lit than general fiction, but a very good book.

I am a long time audio book listener. This is my first review. I am very impressed. It is easy to love the two main characters. There is a wonderful story, a family you can believe, "family values" that are real and have been tested. There is love, romance and some wonderful sex. It is a full service story. Marie Force seems to be a relatively new author and I predict we will see a lot of her soon.
I hope she keeps Sam and Nick around for a very long time. I am hooked.

Standing over the body of a Supreme Court nominee, Lieutenant Sam Holland is hip-deep in another high-profile murder case. The fact that she was one of the last people to see Julian Sinclair alive just complicates things even more. On the plus side, her relationship with Senator Nick Cappuano is heating up - but it's also attracting a lot of unwanted media attention and blinding flash bulbs.
