Patrick Davis is a man with troubles. First his Hollywood dreams crumble, then his storybook marriage hits a snag. Finally, DVDs start being delivered to his house – DVDs which show that someone is watching him and his wife, that the two of them are being stalked and recorded by cameras hidden around and within their house. Then the e-mails start, and someone offers to fix everything, to take the mess his life has become and make it all right. Patrick figures it's the offer of a lifetime.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

It's not easy being queen bee of an underworld abuzz with crooks and killers. Bodyguard Celia Graves has definitely accepted her share of weird assignments, both human and supernatural. But her newest job takes the cake. Guarding a prince from terrorists and religious fundamentalists is hard enough, but it seems like the entire supernatural world is after this guy too. When she is betrayed by those she is employed to help, and everything goes horribly wrong, Celia wakes to find herself transformed. Neither human nor vampire, Celia has become an abomination-something that should not exist-and now both human and supernatural alike want her dead.

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book first caught my eye because I like Molly Harper, and as always I was quickly drawn into another story I couldn't put down.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The performance by Amanda Ronconi was stellar as always. Since I travel a lot, I have come to notice the good and bad narrators and Ms. Ronconi is one of the best at bringing the characters to life.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I love James Patterson books but this one was difficult for me. The story line was strange for me but I still couldn't put it away.

What was most disappointing about James Patterson’s story?

The theme and the amount of details used to tell the story was difficult for me.

Which character – as performed by Daniel Whitner and Kevin O'Rourke – was your favorite?

I enjoy the Alex Cross series and don't want to miss anything in the full story.

Do you think Violets Are Blue needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I don't think I would buy a follow up book.

Any additional comments?

Worth the time if you don't mind the graphic details.

The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.
