It's one of the galaxy's most dangerous secrets: a mysterious transmitter with unknown power and a reward for its discovery that most could only dream of claiming. But those who fly the Millennium Falcon throughout its infamous history aren't your average scoundrels. Not once, but twice, the crew of the Falcon tries to claim the elusive prize - first, Lando Calrissian and the droid L3-37 at the dawn of an ambitious career, and later, a young and hungry Han Solo with the help of his copilot, Chewbacca.

This is not your normal canon Star Wars story. The weirdness we love about SW gets pushed to an 11. The love story is amazing. The suspense is breath taking. The narration places you in a different mood with each narrator. Daniel's narration was as good as it was in A Certain Point of View. A few times I got lost and had to back track but that's probably my fault. Some times I'd be confused and the very next sentence explained what I was missing. I love this book. It may have dethroned Lost Stars.

In response to this stunning defeat, the Imperial Navy has authorized the formation of an elite team of soldiers, known as Inferno Squad. Their mission: infiltrate and eliminate the remnants of Saw Gerrera's Partisans. Following the death of their leader, the Partisans have carried on his extremist legacy, determined to thwart the Empire - no matter what the cost.

I really like this book. It is different from any book thus far in the new canon. Christie Golden did a great job at making you feel like you are still in a galaxy far far away. Janina did a great job on her first audiobook. There were a few spots where the editing was spotty and I believe a name was written (or said) that should have been someone else's name, but that's a small gripe. I highly recommend this for lovers of the Empire and Star Wars fans everywhere.

This is by far my favorite of the new canon novels. Timothy Zahn capitalizes on the opportunity to bring Thrawn into a new era with a fresh story. There is enough of the Thrawn trilogy to make us older fandom happy. The inclusion of new characters in Rebels was fascinating. Marc Thompson is amazing as usual. The production is high caliber. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good book. I feel more observant of the things around me after finishing Thrawn.

This book is amazing. It gets to the heart of the mediation relationship, how it should be and gives practical advice to bring people on board. I bought the paper back version and the audiobook so I didn't have to put it down. There is enough humor to teach and get the point across without making the book amateurish or campy. The production value is great. The narrator does a fantastic job. I can't say enough about the entire experience. I recommend this book to anyone whether you're a founder of a coalition, a professional mediator or looking to be married. This book and the information works on every level.

I am not a fan of Chuck Wendig's writing style, politicking Star Wars or his sense of dialogue. He uses obscure Star Wars animals' physical features in order to make similes and metaphors in a way that took me out of the book. Literally, I had to go to the Internet in order to look up what in the world he was talking about. There is a way to be PC and inclusive without hitting people over the head. I wish ze understood zhis. I listened to this book basically to get the facts and a complete story of the Battle of Jakku. The characters are interesting enough to keep you interested in the story. The interludes finally pay off in this book. His strengths in this book are all of the things that actually matter: what was going on with the Emperor, making Sloane lovable, and providing closure while giving us something to look forward to. I recommend this book as long as there isn't a condensed list of "important things we learn from Empire's End." Marc Thompson is amazing. His voices really elevate the story when it seems like there is no story. Ze is amazing.

I am a positive person and I can find the good in the bad. This story has no pay off. Nothing is progressed. The author does capture relationships well and the awkward conversation that ensues. Marc Thompson is the best thing about the audio version of this book. He always does an excellent job. Out of respect for his work and my need to be current on SW canon I finished this book. My fear within the last chapter was that the book would have no pay off. Fears = confirmed.

James Luceno does a great job of weaving lines between the books Tarkin, Lords of the Sith, and the show Clone Wars and filling in gaps. I do have questions concerning the crystals and the timeline of the Death Star, but those are trivial. The story is told well. Mr. Davis always does an amazing job with voices, tone and inflection.

Marc Thompson is the guy you want reading your book, even if it's mediocre. This isn't the case with A New Dawn. The only thing that got annoying at times were the over explanations of technical aspects during fast paced fights. The story is great though. I learned new things this time around. Watching more Clone Wars, reading Lords of the Sith and catching up on Rebels has brought new life to this book for me. I highly recommend it. The book moves at a good pace and you find yourself sympathizing with characters you didn't think you would. Great read!
