Let’s start with Galaxy Outlaws was way better if your looking for a fun sci-fi crew of misfits and Expeditionary Force has the AI you need to hear. This book has a weak plot with huge holes in the storyline. The main character’s banter is reminiscent of deadpool if deadpool was written by a 14 year old. Finally there is a heavy and unnecessary political slant.

Meet the galaxy's unluckiest outlaws. Carl Ramsey is an ex-Earth Navy fighter pilot turned con man. His ship, the Mobius, is home to a ragtag crew of misfits and refugees looking to score a big payday but more often just scratching to pay for fuel. The crew consists of his ex-wife (and pilot), a drunkard, four-handed mechanic, a xeno-predator with the disposition of a 120kg housecat, and the galaxy's most-wanted wizard.

I really enjoyed this series. During the 50+ hours of these stories I kept thinking this is just is as good if not better than the Firefly series. At the end, the author even states that these books came about due to the abrupt end of that fantastic tv show. Even with some minor editing issues, I still give this 5 stars. The worst part of this book is that its over for me and now I have to find something new...

Almost everything they've done since then has, in one way or another, blown up in their faces. So of course they decide to make dragons. It does not go well.

Let me start by saying this is one of the best series I have ever listened to! While this is a fun story, this would probably have been better as a short story or sub-plot. Its just not at the same level as the previous books and feels like more of a setup for the next book than a stand-alone story.
