More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to Earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers - men and women who risk their lives by diving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

A wolrd transformed by war drives humanity to the air where they must struggle to survive on airships that falling apart underneath them. A great book read by the master R.C. Bray that will have you diving for the next installment of the series.

American political leaders failed to heed the warnings as two bullies of the world unite. North Korea and Iran - the Axis of Evil - bring the battle to American soil. Most of the country is without power, and the new president must decide whether to retaliate and risk escalation of hostilities or focus on recovery to minimize loss of life. Through careful, prudent planning and protection of their power grid, the state of Texas emerged relatively unscathed from the EMP attack. But what now?

It's one of the galaxy's most dangerous secrets: a mysterious transmitter with unknown power and a reward for its discovery that most could only dream of claiming. But those who fly the Millennium Falcon throughout its infamous history aren't your average scoundrels. Not once, but twice, the crew of the Falcon tries to claim the elusive prize - first, Lando Calrissian and the droid L3-37 at the dawn of an ambitious career, and later, a young and hungry Han Solo with the help of his copilot, Chewbacca.

I have read every star wars book I could get my hands on and the new franchise has ruined these as well. I am highly disappointed in the stories and the poor writing that surrounds all these new novels. Marc Thompson does a great job and was 5he only reason I read this book at all. The main example for me in the forced inclusion of this book is when they take an ewok and make them an top notch slicer.

What made the experience of listening to The Last Jedi the most enjoyable?

I love Star Wars and the books before Disney took over were so much better than the stories today. Marc Thompson is a great narrator, he has taken a story that is unbearable and brought some life to it. The problem is that this book brings some understanding to the story behind the movie but it still has the horrible writing from the movie to have to deal with. I am sorry to say that it is becoming harder and harder to stay with a story that is slowly falling into an unbearable black hole of boringness.

United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.
