I'm so glad I found this series. This book was incredible. If you love Kresley Cole, you'll love this series. I was hooked since book one, but this second book in the series sealed the deal for me. I wish they were all audio books, but since the next two books in the series are not, I went ahead and purchased them on my Kindle.

The only thing that annoyed me was that the heroine was so stubborn in the beginning because sometimes her stubbornness made me feel like she was dumb. However, everything else about the book was so entertaining, that I ignored my annoyance and kept listening. I don't know how Kiersten Fay did it, but eventually, my annoyance morphed into appreciation for the heroine as her stubbornness faded away. Somehow, I became glad I didn't give up on Nadua, and learned to appreciate, and understand where she was coming from along with why she was so stubborn. I think this development of an appreciation of Nadua made the over all story more believable and wonderful for me. That is the reason why I did not take any stars away from my story line rating.

All in all, I loved this book, and will probably go back and read it again and again. I love action paranormal romances where the budding romance is difficult and BELIEVABLE with its imperfections and complications. I like romance books where things aren't cookie cutter (like the man sees female, man conquers female type or of course the perfect female gets her perfect man or prince type). In this book, both characters were perfectly imperfect. There is a slow burn romance between them at first and then BOOM!!! things are blazing and full blown HOT between them.

SPOILER ALERT:
In addition, there were layers to the plot of this book because it had plots and sub plots with lots of action mixed in. That is just how I like my paranormal romance books. In addition, this is definitely an alpha male book as well, which I love, but others might have to brace themselves for. Marik is my favorite alpha male character in this series so far. I like him better than I liked Sebastian. I thought that Marik was sweet in the first book, but we get to see how rugged and hard core he actually is in this book. There was a lot more character and world building in this book because we aren't confined to a space ship like we were in book 1. We get to explore why Marik is more rugged than we initially thought in book 1 as we get a taste of his past as a slave. It was good to see both characters fit together as Marik overcomes his past insecurities, and Nadua lets go of her trust issues with demons and her controlling/ take charge attitude.
END OF SPOILER!!!

I am so happy I found this series, and I can't wait to read more. The narration was spot on!!! Henry did all the characters perfectly, he was quite sexy, and if he is not the narrator for the rest of the books in this series, I will weep. Buy this book and the others in the series now, you won't regret it!

My street name is Mercy, but I never show any. Except for her. I watch Becca, though she doesn't know. She saved me a long time ago; the day my father killed my mother. Her bravery turned her into a target. My father holds a grudge and knife with the same proficiency, and Becca is the focus of his hatred. And I'm the only monster who can save her.

If this book were a song, it would be this one called skeleton--> (choreography not necessarily excluded ;-): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jynXUbnvPfs. I kept thinking of this song and its dope beat the entire book.

Music summary aside, this book was fantastic in every way!!! I love how deep Debra Anastasia makes her characters and their romances. I usually prefer paranormal romance, but I gave this one a try, and I liked it so much that I bought the next book Havoc (Animal's story) before finishing this one.

The narration was perfect!!! Zach was the perfect narrator for the male lead. I saw some of myself in the female lead because I have a mom that is very similar to her. The female lead was more of who I always wish I was brave enough to be. ***SLIGHT SPOILER*** Sadly, I'm too chicken to fully be myself and not conform to societal norms, societal expectations, and my mom's expectations completely. This is the real world after all. I've had to conform just like everyone else- LOL!!! Even though I've conformed though; in my heart, I have come into myself just like Becca did, and I'm fortunately with someone who has always seen and loved the real me like Phoenix. That is the reason I personally enjoyed this book.

The story is very relatable for anyone because it deals with people shaped by the direction life has led them. It is very moving, so make sure you read this because you won't regret it. It has nearly five stars for a reason, and I'll probably be thinking about this book for a long time after having read it. It was that good, so download it now!!!

I bought the next book in the series before finishing this audiobook. I got lucky, I didn't have to wait long before the next book came out. I finished this book, and the next book came out two days later. I was thrilled. The audiobook for the next book in the series is not out yet, which is a huge bummer because the narrators are FANTASTIC! for this series! Even so, I'm just glad that at least I get to find out what happens next, and I don't have to wait. I absolutely loved the male narrator (Shane's) sexy accent-- I just couldn't get enough of hearing him talk! The transitions were smooth, which is always a huge worry when the narrotors switch from male to female voices. There were no pauses or delays like with some older audiobook recordings (where you can tell the narrators are passing a mike or there is a delay while they turn on their audio record switch). With these transitions, it was like hearing a conversation between two different people in real time.

I usually like high action, high intimacy romance in my paranormal romance books, and this book delivered in my opinion. The action, mystery, brewing suspense, and world building was great. The chemistry and banter between the male and female lead was extremely entertaining. The romance is slow burn, and UNBELIEVABLY REALISTIC! It kept me wanting more as I frantically listened for what happened next between the two leads. In this book, there isn't a scene so HOT that you have to reach for a glass of water to get through it, but there is high flirting/ chemistry and kissing. So, if you like alot of HOT action in your romance books, then this book may not be for you. HOWEVER, as I said, I usually don't like when a book doesn't have HOT scenes, but I wasn't bothered by that this time because I was so thoroughly entertained by everything else this book had to offer.

I liked how all the details surrounding each character weren't revealed up front, and you got to know the characters' personality first before learning everything about them and where they fit into the plot. I thought it was cool how you were sort of thrust in the middle of things, facts were piecemeal, and then they all came together as you went along. Some people might describe the plot surrounding the characters as dizzying, but I enjoyed that aspect of this book. I liked having to put things in order myself, or figure out about why things happened a particular way in a previous chapter at a later point in the book. It was a refreshing change from the normal orderly type of romance book.

In addition to the interesting characters, plot, banter, and commentary; I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything in the romance department as I read the slow burn between the two leads. All I wanted was MOOORRREEEE!!!! I'M DEFINITELY LOOKING FORWARD TO DEVOURING THE NEXT BOOK IN THIS SERIES, and with the way this book ended, I really think I WILL BE reaching for my glass of water in the next one.... ;-).

May Sage, you are added to my favorite author's list!!!! You are incredibly talented. I am so glad I purchased this book.
I liked the dragon reverse harem book you wrote, but even though it was a great read too, I learned that harem books just aren't really my style. So, I stopped after the first book in that series. When I realized you also wrote non harem romance books, I came back and read this one, and I don't regret that decision in the least. Keep em comin' :-)

What are they even doing here? Come to think of it, I've never seen a Kordolian up close before. They're huge and intimidating, with strange silver skin and pointed ears. I cannot get over this series! Its been a long time since I found an author that I love, that does paranormal or sci-fi romance correctly with action, suspense, AND BELIEVABLE ROMANCE + STEAMY AND HOT SCENES!!!! *Fanning myself* Tarak and Abbey are the biggest delight to read about. Ugh! I am flying high on this series! My husband is even jealous because I am so into this series, I have no time for him.

Please do not hesitate to read this entire series! It hooked me in from the beginning! (even though I started with the author's newest book Taming Chaos), I immediately went back and began reading this series. I am on book 3 right now, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! It is one of those lose sleep type of series. I am actually sad I am on book 3 already in just one week because it means that I will likely be finished with the series by next week "BOO HOO..." I am already sad about it, but at least there is the audio version for me to appreciate. I plan to use all 7 of my remaining credits to buy the books in this series. AHHHHH!!!! THEY ARE THAT GOOD!!! If you are on the fence, don't be!!! I gave the performance five stars already even though I haven't "listed" to any of the books because no narrator can fail to deliver on such a good story. I also plan to go back and read all of Anna Carven's books, she's that good!

Enjoy! and your welcome!!!

I love this series, it just keeps getting better and better. I was hesitant to buy this book because its only 5 hrs. I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT A 5 hr. book/ novela unless it is from my favorite author. But, I have really been enjoying this author, so I caved and bought this one. It was the best choice I could have made. I listened to the entire book in one sitting. It was so good that I will definitely be reading this one again after I finish this series. It was the perfect balance of action and romance. I was blown away. The love story was amazing and I'm totally smitten with the characters and even more so with the author.

As far as the narration goes, I wish she would stick to a narrator. Aaron's narration was better in this book than it was in Tempted by a Rogue Prince. The only reason I gave his performance four stars instead of five is because he didn't quite measure up during some of the steamier scenes. His voice almost became sinister instead of sensual. I liked Felicity's narration, but it seems like they choose narrator based on whether the book is primarily told from the male or the female perspective.

But, thats a minor hang up! He did a great job other than that. If your on the fence like I was, just buy the book. You won't be disappointed, trust me! I'm fairly critical about books, and I'm not afraid to stop reading a romance book if its terrible, or the characters are poorly written. But she did a great job with this five hour book! I didn't feel short changed in the least when it ended, and I was so glad I purchased it in the end instead of skipping this book and the next book to go to longer books within the series.

I liked the book, but gave the story only three stars because I've read everything Kresley has published, and I've read better by her. The first book in this series set the bar so high that I was a little disappointed that this one wasn't as intriguing as the first book. Its still a wonderful read worth a credit in my book though. It was SO STEAMY and the ending was cute. The story still had enough of a unique spin that I liked it. I just liked the first book in this series best.

I just wish the heroine would have been forthcoming at times. All the secrets Elly kept caused problems. Towards the end when Elly saw things or felt things that would have helped the elves better protect her and keep people safe, I would think to myself, let me guess, she's not going to tell Rain. Then, sure enough that's exactly what happened. It annoyed me to no end, and made the story predictable and repetitive. Sometimes, I just wished Rain would just read her mind, or for her guards to not to spin a privacy spell between her and her little friend, so they could get the scoop on things and set a trap for the villain of this book. At the same time though, I knew she was only trying to protect her friend. But if it had been me guarding and spinning the spell, I would have been super suspicious and paranoid about Elly's little friend and kept eyes on that ex- fiancé of hers. Anyways, although it annoyed me at times that Elly withheld things from the Fey, the delayed romance between the couple also annoyed me. However, you could argue that the sloth like romance between the couple matched the setting of the book, and made the romance more believable. Since the couple became more comfortable with one another as individuals before the physical took place. The story is good other than that though, so I will be reading the second book despite my little hang ups, because I'm still intrigued by this wonderful story. That's why I gave it four stars.

The King! He was so sexy! Michael Ferraiuolo did an amazing job with his voice! I will read it again just to hear it!

What does Michael Ferraiuolo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Everything! He's phenomenal!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending was so good! Both the main characters were humbled by one another, and the things the King said made me melt! All the puzzle peace came together so neatly, piece by wonderful piece. It was delightful how well thought out and constructed the plot of this story was.

Any additional comments?
