In Hi Bob!, American icon Bob Newhart gets together one-on-one with a handpicked cohort of luminaries in the world of entertainment, whom he happens to be friends with. Bob gets deep with each performer about their aspirations, their careers, how they got started, and how they grew to be where they are today. As a kid, Bob Newhart was the 1st comedian I truly ever understood as actually being a comedian. He didn’t tell jokes per say but found the funny in situations that eluded most people. His ability to deliver a line, keep an audience in comedic suspense with his pauses and find his character in movie or tv show is incredible to watch. He will always be, like his best friend Don Rickles, the platinum standards of comedy. If there is any criticism of the book, I really wish he had the time to include brilliant comedic minds like Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy as well as folks he worked with on either the TV shows or his later work.

Trump’s freakout about this book before it hit bookshelves was over the top. The book doesn’t contain anything we don’t already know or suspect. But it does prove one thing: he is deeply worried & is certainly aware that he broke the law. Unlike his bankruptcy filings where he could walk away, this time Donald Trump may have to actually face the music. All because he is simply “a fucking liar.”

I loved this next in the series book....it’s brilliant. But trust me, wait for the very end....it’s not what I expected until it happened. Only then did it all make sense....and it’s why Scott Meyer is one of five authors whose books I will ALWAYS buy. And Luke Daniels I couldn’t praise anymore than I have before - but honestly he makes waiting for these books to come out worth every second and every penny spent on them. His knowledge of characters, his connection to the voices & his ability to connect you almost directly to each one makes the entire story come alive. In short, well done and when’s the next one coming out!!

I really don’t know how Kloos does it but the Frontlines series gets better every book. The ability of the author to make to feel like you are truly a part of these characters live is rather astonishing to me. But to me, it’s once again, a story that truly comes to life because of Luke Daniels - to be fair, I do go looking for books where he is the narrator. Kloos is a strong writer and in concert with Daniels narration - the book has so much more depth to it. Well done ...yet again.
