Did not learn much new. Not a plant book, more just a bunch of essays on stuff she knows. Patronizing tone, I kept waiting and hoping for some plant substance, but it never came. Will try to get my credit back.
Title has no relation to book content.

So glad to have a longer version, not interrupted by the irritating music. I enjoyed the short stories, but hated the music between each one of them.

The main character, who is supposed to be a crime novel writer, is portrayed to be unbelievably stupid.
Just completely lost me. She couldn't possible be that stupid. Just didn't follow with the rest of her
character.

Although I like the Charlotte Holmes character, this story seems to go over (and over) the same material for hours without making any forward progress. I found it slow and repetitive, and I usually enjoy British mysteries. This was just a little too slow.

This detective is completely sharp and intelligent doing his job, but with his sister ( who had serious mental issues) he is unbelievable stupid and treats her in an unrealistic way. This repetitive and heavy-handed relationship between him and his delusional sister made it impossible for me to listen to the main plot of the murder. Really too bad as the main story was very interesting.

This book went on forever. Where are editors these days? It is also misogynistic and homophobic, and so overloaded with testosterone that it's laughable. Did I mention it went on forever?

Might have been a good story, but the extremely heavy handed political messages were in every chapter! If it had been more lightly done, I might have been able to listen, but it was just way too overpowering of the story. Too bad.

Too bad the author didn't read the book herself. Her message is so important and engaging, the chosen narrator wasn't up to the task.
